steiner
An update on the figure I am painting... http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b40/9723761/DSC_0077.jpg http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b40/9723761/DSC_0078.jpg Quote Link to comment
Boelcke
Its looking really great. Great job on the weathering. Great job on the beard too. Btw, heres a chopper I built a couple of years ago. Its a 1/72 Airfix SH-2 SeaSprite. I reworked the entire interior, rescribed the fuselage, took off the gear well doors molded onto the land gears, folded the rotor blades, and opened up the engine bays and added engine details. http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll97/Xtida/P4190606.jpg http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll97/Xtida/P4190607.jpg Comments most welcome. steiner
great work sir Boelcke, Nice job on the folded blades! Im not too much a fan of the sea sprite however. I liked the appearance of the seaking more. Good thing you were able to get a seasprite since I heard that's somewhat of a rare kit now. Quote Link to comment
Dr_PepPeR
This is the trumpeter 1/16 Russian Officer (Vol 2) Started this during the IPMS Manila event at Eastwood but only got around to painting it now. Will post further pics as progress is made. http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b40/9723761/DSC_0059.jpg http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b40/9723761/DSC_0066.jpg I believe that would be Joel Torre? hehehehehe I really like the way you shadowed and highlighted the pants. Not Joel Torre's usual style though. :thumbsupsmiley: Its looking really great. Great job on the weathering. Great job on the beard too. Btw, heres a chopper I built a couple of years ago. Considering it's 1/72, and considering it's an Airfix, that's a helluva job Herr Boelcke. I have the Revell 1/48 kit of the SeaSprite but I plan to really weather it since I would assume a navy heli would be really exposed to the elements. Quote Link to comment
Boelcke
Thank you for the kind words. Steiner, I like the Seaking too, but have been fascinated by the Sea Sprite since I was a kid. I wouldnt have gotten this Airfix kit if I really didnt want a 'sprite in my collection. The Airfix kit might be rare, but its about the only thing it has going for it. The quality is sooo 70s. Doc, I planned on making this 'sprite really weathered, but as I started gathering pics I noticed that many actually had a cleaner look. Maybe its because of the gloss finish; later USN helicopter types sported flat finishes that were more prone to gathering dirt and grime. Quote Link to comment
Griffin_
anybody here selling a second hand airbrush? Magkano? Quote Link to comment

Mind you I wasn't criticizing the accuracy, it's just that I like to really weather my builds. Goes a long way to cover up my boo-boos. Quote Link to comment
Boelcke
Doc, Oh no, no, dont get me wrong. Maybe I was in a sense justifying the finish, but as everyone who know me would tell you, I always welcome criticisms. Only way to improve. Actually, I prefer weathered builds as well. Was tempted to do it here, but usually between accuracy and artistic license, the former wins out. Quote Link to comment
Dr_PepPeR
anybody here selling a second hand airbrush? Magkano? I have a Chinese-made airbrush that has never been used. It's a lot cheaper than a Badger but I'm not sure of the quality, since like I said, I never used it. Interested? Doc, Oh no, no, dont get me wrong. Maybe I was in a sense justifying the finish, but as everyone who know me would tell you, I always welcome criticisms. Only way to improve. Actually, I prefer weathered builds as well.
