people who are still iffy about taking the plunge from DVD to Blu Ray should start shifting to the newer format. It's not just a minor enhancement. It's a great leap of improvement from your old standard definition favorite.

 

I'm glad I never opted to collect DVDs. I always thought they were lacking. True enough, when I experienced my first blu ray (LOTR Extended Trilogy), I realized that DVDs lacked the finer details. DVD is blurry and just unwatchable now that I've gotten used to HD/Blu ray quality. I started collecting last August and from 3 blu rays, I currently have 120+ already. It is well worth the money if you love movies and own at least a decent home theater set.

 

DVDs are like VHS now. They're archaic.
