Recommended Posts

APPLYING/INTERVIEW:

1. Your picture on your resume must be a FORMAL one...hindi yung pang-friendster! at hindi rin cardboard ang gamit na paper.

2. Have a background check on the company you're applying at.

3. Business attire (NOT jeans/shirt/flat sandals/open-toe sandals/rubbershoes).

4. Be punctual.

5. Check your physical appearance...hair, nails, buttons, etc..

6. Bring pen and paper.

7. Maintain eye contact during interview.

8. English as much as possible.

Additional:

1. Know your where you are good at.

2. Dont't jump from one job to another or from one company to another...it's going to cause you a bad record.

3. Wag mag-expect kaagad ng mataas na salary...tataas din naman yan e.

i completely agree.

just to add, nothing beats being confident about who you are and the character/talent/skill you can offer to the company.

When applying for work... dont forget:

1. Ur resume of course!!! with scanned picture. Never place a picture na cut out lang from other photos!! have your pic in a studio.

2. Black ballpen or black sign pen (never use blue)

3. Keep ur resume clean and do not fold it.. unless u will submit ur resume in an envelope. fold it nicely.

if you do not have an envelope.. place it in a clean folder or brown envelope.

4. for a two pages resume... never use a clip paper.. staple it or just leave it unstapled.

5. Bring extra 2x2 or 1x1 pictures. If you have other credentials such as: TOR, Diploma.. bRING IT!

6. Wear business attire clothes. keep ur fingernails clean. hair combed and avoid wearing too much jewelries (esp for ladies)

Face it...some may not be from prestigious school, pag nag-aapply ka lang be able to show na you can be with these people(un basic principles ng pag aapply wag kakalimutan). Then wag garapal...di lang sweldo usapan,un kaya mo ipakita na gilas/diskarte sa kanila before you haggle for money.

Pag nag-start ka pa lang mag-work, work hard.earn valuable work experiences...don't expect too much on salary remember newbie ka pa lang and di pa ganun ka solid ang alam mo sa work.Study, add value sa knowledge mo(masterals, doctorals or other certifications/licenses).

this tip should be given to those in high school... study your ass off to get into the big 3 schools. If you graduate from any of these, it'll be easier to find work. it might be offensive to some others, but employers prefer graduates from these schools.

You can always be an entrepreneur so that you don't have put up with this employer bias.

think of your career first and foremost. dont be dependent with your co-workers, di mo lang alam one day umalis na sila tapos ikaw natali ka na sa company thinking andyan pa rin sila. dont be trigger happy sa mga friends sa workplace, it's not college anymore. jump from one company to another, para malaman mo niche mo at the same time lalaki sweldo mo. every year lumipat ng company, mas ok yun. you could always go back naman eh. medyo mahirap yung adjustment, but once you got the right job for you, pede ka ng magtrigger happy.

For the Newly Grads:

first of all, CONGRATULATIONS on your graduation! welcome to the Job World! :thumbsupsmiley:

wag na magtambay...hanap na agad trabaho and don't stop looking for a job till you get one.

know the company na inaaplyan ninyo at mag-aral so that mas makaprepare kayo sa mga possible questions na itatanong sa inyo sa interview.

gain more friends (more friends more job referrals and opportunities).

sa interview, relax lang kayo. be confident and at the same time be humble lang.

once natanggap kayo sa trabaho, iwasan niyo mag-absent at ma-late at work hard lang.

enjoy niyo lang work niyo and befriend and respect your co-workers...mahirap may kaaway sa trabaho.

pag may sweldo na dapat magsave kayo at wag iubos sa bisyo o sa walang kwentang bagay.

ayun..ingat kayo and good luck!
