Siguro one of the most important things to remember is to set reasonable expectations. If you only have enough to spend on a budget setup, don't expect it to sound like systems costing 10x as much.

Just use your stock system and buy a small jbl subwoofer for the bass. Bass pumpin na yan. Todays car setup from the factory is already listenable, just add jbl subs around 6 inches lang. You can buy

3+ year setup... pioneer deh-9350sd head unit + jbl speakers... sounds good after break-in and tweaking.

I usually leave the sound system stock if decent sounding enough naman. Reason is i am afraid of rattling sound that may emerge from all that disassembly and reassembly of side door pannels, etc., due to rewiring, sound deadening, speaker replacement, etc. Most i did is replaced the stock head unit with an android HU.
