Up to now this advise is still relevant - even after 5 years!  Although I suggest checking out 10 to 12 inch subwoofers before settling on 6 inches.  And additional budget can get up compact powered subwoofers that fit under your seats.  

It is not as complicated as it looks, a lot of stock sound systems even have built in connectors for  after market subwoofers.

Just simple setup for me. Change the speaker according to your pref genre of the music. I got Infinity cause i like the logo. Hehe. and if need some bass boost add underseat sub for clean setup. All infinity setup. Had it for couple of years. Music to my ears.

😅 Majority of late model vehicles do not have CD Player anymore. Most are touch screen types which are not repairable when the screen malfunction. You have to replace the whole head unit. 😔

Stock. Mine is a touch screen but still has single cd player that I rarely use. I usually use sirius xm or spitify.

Changed speakers first. Installed JBL separates sa front and Infinity sa likod then palit touch screen na Head Unit.

Ako, prefer the old Rockfords but have used several JL Audio as well.

Stock audio system, but, on the other hand, the stock system is an 800+ watt Rockford Fosgate Audio system. I'm very satisfied with its output. What's missing? Bluetooth connectivity.
