views? advice on this?? are there are exercises or ways to at least ease the pain?

my jaw keeps on clicking or popping. it locks up MANY TIMES that i still have to massage the joint near my cheekbone to set it back. at nakakagawit sya!

i was advised by friend to use a splint to correct my bite. does anyone of you have an idea on how much will it cost me on this? recommended dentists/ortho??

yup.. natakot nga ko minsan kasi nahirapan ako maayos eh. nakakangawit sya at hindi ko lang sure kung yun na ba talaga yung pain.

i'm in a call center,, meaning wala akong ginawa kundi magsalita ng magsalita during my entire shift. and probably it's also one reason on why i get this.

You need to consult an orthodontist regarding your problem. A regular dentist wont be able to help.

Maybe it's different there in PI but here in the states a general dentist or maybe even lab can help you by making you a "soft clear acrylic nightguard". You wear this thin flexible nightguard on your lower teeth at night while you sleep or maybe even at work where you stress out a lot and you grin your teeth the most. If you are strap for cash you can even try a sports mouthguard "temporarily"..nothing too thick though. Check on the dental thread...I posted something about the same subject extensively.

Is it called TMD there in PI?

Akala ko ang universal term is TMJ...that's the term we use here.

The specialty that usually specializes in TMJ are the oral surgeons.

although don't quote me on this since it seems the system there in PI is quite different here in the States.

Good luck!

sometimes TMJ symptoms are caused by myofascial pain. its best to be evaluated and treated first by physiatrists or physical medicine doctors before going to see a TMJ-Orthodontist specialist. try to see one at Pain and Rehab Care, SM City North EDSA, 3rd floor, North Link. Call 352-2917 or 502-5275 for appointments/inquiries.

Majority of TMJ cases can be solved mostly by orthodontic treatment or prosthodontic treatments. visit your dentists. Tho I can share some info how they would do it. Since the major cause of TMJ mostly are from patients whom had their molars extracted. By fabricating crown and bridges and raising the bite can solve this, same as orthodontic treatment, the dentist will make your bite higher. tho at first or when needed especially during nighttime you are required to wear splints. Prevention can be , dont let your molars be extracted cause this is one of the major reasons why you will experience TMD.
