unLicense
Hi! fellow newbie here.. If I'm not mistaken, Acer Aspire 5580 is a laptop right? I think it isn't possible to upgrade the graphics card since nakasolder din siya sa motherboard. Anyway, I have Geforce 9500 GT 256MB ddr3.. Sulit naman, I can play most games on maximum settings including NBA 2K10. ganun ba... tnx sa info Quote Link to comment
RockmanZero
@LacklusterSpark If you're looking for a powerful card on a budget, don't buy GTX 285 and GTX 295. Go for ATI 5850 or 5870. ATI 5870 is the #1 powerful card on the market today. Check out www.videocardbenchmark.net. You can also search for benchmarks on games like Crysis. Mas malakas siya even on higher resolutions. And given na mas mura siya at mas mababa ang power consumption. Quote Link to comment
LacklusterSpark
@RockmanZero Thank you sir, a day after posting I was at my friend's house, he had a 5870, real sweet. I'll ask around for the prices. I've never used ATI cards before, only brand other than nvidia was 3dfx and that was a long time ago hehe. Quote Link to comment
neonblaze99
5870 is the fastest single gpu processor of the moment sir... the gtx 295 still fares a bit higher po kasi its a dual gpu solution... but its actually 2 gtx 275's on a single pcb... If you want the fastest either get the HD5890, Asus Mars (2 gtx 285's on a pcb), or the upcoming gtx 4xx series... I used to be an nvidia fanboi... pero due to price performance comparison... naging ati na ako... sis 8mb - geforce 2 mmx - geforce 4 - geforce fx 5500 - geforce 7300gt - geforce 8600 gts - ATI HD3850 - geforce 9600gt - (main rig HD4850 / intel x3100 htpc / HD3450 lappie) Quote Link to comment

LacklusterSpark
Salamat sa mga inputs! Wow its getting harder to choose a gpu :S, either way I look there's always going to be a better card around the corner. Want to build a "gaming pc" kc, primary game being Dawn of War II and its expansion pack. Anyone else play this game? Could you tell me how your setups handle it? Thanks! Quote Link to comment
RockmanZero
@zidan72 oo nga pala lumabas na ung 5970... hehehe @LackLusterSpark I haven't played DOWII before... but I can tell you... most games that require a lot of power can be handled by 5850 and 5870 with ease. I currently own Crysis, RE5, DMC4, Battlefield Bad Company 2 and Dragon Age and I have never encountered any bugs or errors on these games using 5850. I got around a stable 40fps+ on Crysis at 1440x900 reso. All high (except for anti-aliasing) NVidia's got power but compared to ATI, ATI's are much cheaper and provides more power. Really bang for the buck Quote Link to comment
RockmanZero
Also, ATI cards are cooler and more energy efficient. Kahit ngayong El Nino puede ka magpatakbo ng ATI 5850/5870 ng 24 hours without overheating.... seriously. Try to check the forums in tipidpc regarding 5850 and 5870. There are a lot of gamers who recommend ATIs over NVidias. And they're running their PCs on 24/7. Quote Link to comment
neonblaze99
5970 pala nyahahaha... naconfuse lang medyo... pero i guess maglalabas sila tlaga ng 5890,,, kasi check niyo yung clocks ng 5970 po actually 5850x2 siya... so yung 5870x2 i guess either 5990 or 5890... confusing kasi ngayon... dati pag dual na x2 na ngayon iba lang yung ranking nung card... sorry lang tao lang Quote Link to comment
neonblaze99
