they don't need extra big men... they play the hybrid run and gun... their system doesn't warrant a prototype big - just someone who can rebound decently and score on putbacks

...dampier's there (and his injuries too), then the underrated brandon bass, then there's juwan howard...

...kidd, jet, j-ho, dirk and damp/bass/howard... looks good enough...

might not push thru.. read

Bibby suffers ankle injury in first game with Hawks

Wednesday, Feb 20, 2008 12:30 pm EST

Atlanta Hawks guard Mike Bibby suffered a right ankle injury in the third quarter of Tuesday's 122-93 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Bibby was acquired by the Hawks in a trade on Saturday. He joined the team from Sacramento in exchange for guards Anthony Johnson and Tyronn Lue, forward Shelden Williams, center Lorenzen Wright and a second-round pick in the 2008 draft.

He scored just five points in his Hawks' debut.

News item A

The Spurs have reportedly reached an agreement to acquire center Kurt Thomas from the SuperSonics for guard Brent Barry, center Francisco Elson and a 2009 first-round pick, according to Yahoo! Sports on Wednesday.

The report said that the teams are awaiting league approval. As for fantasy impacts, it's likely that the players involved shouldn't see much of a change in value. However, if Barry starts in Seattle, or Thomas doesn't continue to start in San Antonio, that could change. Feb. 20 - 7:42 pm et (rotoworld.com)

News item B

Writers for the Sun-Sentinel and Newark Star-Ledger sound very confident that the rumored three-team trade that would send Vince Carter to the Knicks, Eddy Curry to the Heat, and Jason Williams and Ricky Davis to the Nets is not going to happen.

The Sun-Sentinel's Ira Winderman blogs that Pat Riley said "Wrong, Wrong...Not that I don't have respect for him," today when asked if Curry was coming to the Heat. And the Star-Ledger's Dave D'Alessandro writes that he sees no way Vince Carter is traded this week, saying that we can "book it." Feb. 20 - 5:20 pm et
