Living Abroad Vs Living In The Philippines?

Recommended Posts

I live abroad.  Just come home every so often to check on things.  I can honestly tell you our culture is fast disappearing.  Iba na ang pilipino ngayon.  If you have the time to go to Indonesia, it is like the Phils 40 years ago where people are not so cynical.  Dito yung pangkaraniwang tao kung magsalita panay Pakita ng attitude!  Now let’s talk about pinoy ofw’s.  Go to Vancouver and observe 2 year contract pinoys who work in the food industry.  I am convinced that these were not isolated.  Kapag pinoy ang crew ng fast food, observe how they are with fellow pinoy customers.  About a third of the time, pinaaandaran ako.  Just because I spoke in tagalog.  Pero pag puti ang kausap, napaka torpe!  Conclusion: depende sa social background ng pinoy.  Kung sa pinas asal squatter, kahit saan mo dalhin lalabas at lalabas ang breeding.  Sa mga Mababa ang pinagaralan, para sa kanila being nice is a sign of weakness.  And there are more like them now, product of bad economics, poor education and poor parenting!

I prefer working overseas but want to spend the rest of my days sa back sa Pinas. Don't have any friends or old classmates sa Pinas but I know I can make new ones when I retire for good. I just really wish we stop with these Westrern ideologies coming into the country, hopefully I'll be gone by the time Pinas gets too forward thinking.
