Dropped by the local Guitar Center yesterday to pay a visit to an old friend:

Also, John Petrucci is going to make an appearance at the store next Saturday. He's of course going to talk about his music, do some demo runs, and talk about his Music Man line of guitars (an Ernie Ball sponsored even apparently). I'm going to post pictures and maybe even a video or two if end up going.

Pre, saan tong event na to? Baka malapit lang sa location ko.

Here's some of my stuff. From left to right

1. Wildfire sunburst electric ( les Paul Rip Off)

2. Jay Turser Seven String ( Handles the heaviest of strings with ease ). This thing growls like the demons from the deepest bowels of hell.

3. Fender Squire Affinity : My favorite blues guitar. I modified this myself by dropping a seymoure duncan Dual rail pick up at the bridge. I scalloped the fingerboard ala Yngwie Malmsteen. Fretboard tapping and bending is now very easy. The seymoure duncan dual rail high output pickup is very sensitive to even to the lightest pull-offs. I also put in a k*ll-switch ala Rage Against the Machine Effect and lastly pearl pickguard for a classy look. I love this guitar among all these.

4. Jackson DXMG : 24 Jumbo Frets, It has a set of EMG 81 85 Active preamp pickups ( Zakk Wylde set ). Flame top finish, reverse head and a Floyd Rose Pro double Locking Tremolo. This guitar is best suited for Slayer Type music. Heavy on the lows and mids. Perfect for thrash Metal.

5. There's another one on the floor I am working on. This will be my Frankenstein guitar. It will be fitted with active preamps and a fast load floyd rose.

The rest are my effects pedals like Wah Morley and Snarling Dogs), Overdrive/Distortion, Flanger, Chorus, Delay, Boss ME20 multi effects, Compressor, Equalizer. My amps: Line 6 Spider 3 combo amp with built in effects and a Crate Powerblock 150 Watt Solid state Microhead amp.

Any Godin fans around here...just picked up the Seagull 25th anniversary.

Godin makes very good guitars and basses. I have a friend who owns a couple of them. The only problem is that they are ridiculously priced. You could get a guitar with the same specs of a Godin for half its price.

or you can get a better Godin for less than the price of Fender or Gibson and it's made in Canada with canadian wood.

The 25th Anniversary Seagull Mahogany Spruce for $600 with Tric case is untouchable by any Martin or Taylor.

Sorry, might be a little biased cause I have met Mr. Robert Godin and understands his passion for the instrument.
