Nice Word

Recommended Posts

CHICKABOOM

first heard this in GREAT EXPECTATIONS (1998);

Nora Dinsmoor used this instead of CHA CHA BOOM

in singing BESAME MUCHO.

the etymology of the word shows it came from
CHICK
,

slang for a young woman, and
BOOM
, an explosion.

ergo, the word must refer to a place or event with a lot

of women.

sample usage:

pare, attend tayo ng Sin City. tiyak chickaboom yun!

PREGO

In an immigration counter at FCO in rome, I did not know the meaning of the word until my 8 year old niece after about a day in rome asked me what the word was, I said I really don't know....my niece gingerly said, uncle it means, 'welcome'!!! that really made me smile because when it happened at the counter, I just pretended to know the meaning and nodded not knowing if I was going to be denied entry or not. nowI know what it means.
