yes boss hope Yo! like tis... tough to remember some things Wednesday night eh...

 

 

How games should be played... for fun as always :cool:

 

Just like any other Wednesday, a group of MTC guys converged at the RFM gym in Pioneer St. to take part in the three-hour basketball scrimmate by a group called "The Wednesday Night Club" :cool:

 

As early as 830p.m., Players comin' from their respective work offices from either QC, Ortigas, Makati, Pasay and even as far as Cavite (on some occassions) brave the traffic, daily rains and extended work schedule just to make it to the weekly basketball ritual that starts from 9 p.m. and ends at a bit past midnight to play friendly ball, ridicule some fellow players and just have a jolly good time.

 

While this MTC poster (who? hehehe) usually comes late (past 9 p.m. all the time ) due to the long-time alibi called work matters, other players just look forward to mid-week Wednesdays not for the gimmicks but to stretch their muscles and flex those knees for a series of race-to-30 games with 15 as the halftime point.

 

Much as Tim Shady wants to tell how the first game went (was late, remember? ), the remaning games were as competitive yet fun as ever. Not because tis poster was part of two of those games (or is it? :boo:) but the other players were just as competitive yet fun in trying to "Be like Mikes" or even the LeBron James, Shaquilles, Tim Duncans or even Dwyane Wades of MTC

 

As memory deserts Tim Shady as to who were teammates and who's not, it was certain some individuals stood out in general during the games.

 

Call this a mockery of this piece (peace fellas ) but one who should be given an "A" for effort and "T" for trying too much (hehehe) is "the player formerly known as skaterboy" Who he? is there such a handle herre in MTC? Yes there is...not! But yes, he made another three-pointer yet again :boo:

 

Although last week was more of a highlight reel when this dude hit two (take note, not one but two) back-board hittin' triples even if his ladylove's not looking (who? ask the dude instead or go to his crib @ My Room to find out) , "the player formerly known as skaterboy" this time hit a ringless 3-pointer right on his first try. Though he never got to score again (save for a close jumper which Tim Shady didnt see ), tis dude should be credited, in a way, for runnin' up and down, try to play defense, and playin' the game as fun as he can imagine.

 

Enough of tis dude already Before he gets too famous for the elections in his town :boo:... Well, the usual suspects had their usual games. Onslaught was, indeed, in a zone :cool: Knockin' down one 3-pointer to another. If this dude had 20 attempts from beyond the arc, it's safe to say he made about 17 of them :cool:

 

Duayne aka YBP remained deadly inside and out, those slashin' drives were still clickin. "YBPC" was also deadly wit his timely treys and some drives too. The other DMC plaers -- JohnRivel, WannAbet and their "Twin Towrs" -- Adolf & Iki -- played some nice defense and nifty moves inside. If these guys were just a complete team the past MTC tournament, they could've contended for the Top 4 and probably, the finals.

 

The "Team Newbies" gang was represented by Pizzapandesal and Chickvoi who also held their own against the rest of the field with their pure hustle and solid play throughout. Porch_0 also played well wit his trademark positioning under the basket and some inside baskets to boot. And who wouldn't forget the newly named "T-Gang" led by idol Taken (dude wit the goggles who shoots 3s hehe), Tjert, Tobleron and Ting Lacson. These players usually comes around 10 p.m but still plays with a lot of energy and some instant offense on the side as well :cool:

 

Also providing some fine performances were the AA gang of Mallninja, Wolf, Ovaltine Kid and of course, Poknat himself :cool: Mallninja provided the hustle and instense defense, O-Kid the fastbreak layups and some jumpers, Wolf the playmakin' and some nifty passing, and Poks the trashtalkin (peace, dude, hehehe) but more importantly the instant offense and the proper management of players who are suppossed to play and not. Sounds like an in-game commissioner, huh? :boo:

 

WHile Tim Shady has yet to know much about the games of Redhorse guy, Japboy, Yongfu, Balatuba, YBB and SRB, it's for certain they too have moments to be highlighted in future games. Either it's just a simple fastbreak layup to a neat jumper or even a 3-pointer, what matters is they enjoyed the games (hope they did much as we do) and would be back for more Wednensday nights to follow.

 

And if anyone thought the UCs (United Colors) was not represented in last Wednesday's game, think again. Bangzie was around after a long absence to play good ball coupled with great passes, slashin' drives and smooth jumpers at the break. This dude should be active in ball games in future weeks, though he's given a slot in the group's Team B lineup so we'll have more time soon to see what he can do in the following weeks.

 

This coming Wednesday night should be another treat for the guys. Not because it's another 3-hour scrimmage games for them but, the East Cowboys are droppin' by to join the fun. :cool: Led by cool member mana-Jerzz, the Cowboys, MTCBL's defendin' champions, will test the waters after a loong offseason of pure gimiks and booze by playin' with the guys. As per Poknat's arrangment, the Cowboys play the group's Team A (lineup posted somwhere in this thread) from 9 to 10 p.m with the winner facing Team B.

 

How to end this rhyme? Oops, it aint rhymin' but just a flowin' piece, ^Tim^ Shady had a decent game compared to the past weeks Some jumphooks there, some banked shots there. There will always be lots of missed jumpers and inside shots on mah part but, who does not miss? Well, aside from Onslaught who rarely missed in that game, what matters is everybody got what they wanted. Or almost. Gettin' themselves fit after a long day of work, mingle with friends and meetin' new ones, and get to improve their games in their own special ways :cool:

 

Poks -- ok na po ba yan? sensha na, no recall of the "blow-by-blow" or play-by-play analysis eh.... :boo: hehehe... njoy the weekends, fellas...

typos yung YBB. ybp yan dapat. si srb naman is stonerockbato of team frenzy. japboy was the guy who went to skyline before coming to play last week. i am assuming that he had extra service due to his weakened condition on shooting, redhorse guy is also an inside presence while my cousin yong fu was, for the first time in his entire life, shy to shoot the damn ball. balatuba is the third leg of the triangle offense of iki and adolph when they attack buffet tables.

you have decent games naman consistently eh. the only flaw in your game is that you cant make shots from the right side of the court. im going to set a rule that any fastbreak layup you make from the left side will not count!
