NCB A wins twice, Frenzy, Team B & C fared well in scrimmages

The Night Club Boys-A (NCB-A) , composed of DMC and AA players, beat Team Frenzy and Team C in two 40-minute games to emerge as the biggest gainer of the NCB's weekly Wednesday Night scrimmage games at the RFM gym last Oct. 19.

With Dwayne coming back after missing the previous week's games, NCB-A outsteadied Team Frenzy in the first match before returning on the playing floor for the fourth and last game in the three-hour scrimmage games with a rout of NCB-C to provide a glimpse on what this team can offer for the MTC Pocket Tournament set on Oct. 28.

Big man Dimitri was an imposing presence in defense while hitting medium range jumpers, Vogharth quarterbacking the team while Sikosci had his share of baskets as NCB-A provided the flexibility on both ends and withstood the absence of starting playmaker Onslaught with two wins to boot.

The Team Frenzy players, newest NBC regular Pizzapandesal, Stonerockbato, Chickvoi,

Abdul Tikul, Kabayo Boi, Kosakhy,Ohnad, Fakeroxas and Gix -- bounced back from that loss to NCB by beating NCB B in the third game to finetune their games as well for the coming pocket tournament. Raistlin, an NCB-A player, played instead with Frenzy in the team's second game only for that week. With streak shooting Dirk Stojakovic still unable to play, Frenzy can still be a stronger team come tournament time with a complete and cohesive lineup.

While NCB-A and Team Frenzy conditioned themselves for the tourney, NCB-B played with seven of 11 players in last Wednesday's games. Led by veteran "Mang" wannabet (hehe peace dude ), the "B" squad also showed up with the T-Gang mix of shooter Taken, Ting Lacson, Tjert and Toblewrong222 and was also reinforced by AA stalwarts Omarsarap and Wolf. Despite missing some players and losing their games against Frenzy and NCB-C, these guys can contend against the other NCB teams if only they play with a complete lineup.

Like the "B" squad, the NCB-C team struggled as well with a crippled lineup. With Poknat not playing due to some fever, the "C" guys -- Bangzie, Tim Shady, Yong Fu, RedHorse guy,Porch Zero, Mall Ninja

and titiisin -- had to make the most of what skills they can provide to come up with a scrambling win over NCB-B in their first games before getting blown away by a taller NCB-A squad to split their two games in the 40-minute-per game scrimmages.

And Tim Shady? Call it ironic but, the dude played better in NCB-C's loss to NCB-A by hitting more shots and defending decently. In the "C" team's win over "B", just missed lots of shots and was saved by teammates who played better. And yes, NCB-C won by just a basket on Yong Fu's short jumper at the buzzer

The NCB teams (A,B and C) will have another Wednesday night scrimmage games on Oct. 26 before plunging into the MTC Pocket Tournament on the 28th. Here's for all the players attending to the games and playing for fun... most of the time, that is.
