Took 15 units of Spanish in college. Too bad I had nobody to practice with so I lost the ability to speak the language. If you don't use the language regularly, you tend to forget how to read, write, and speak in that language.

Spanish was also a requirement back when I was a student. Elementary Spanish, Intermediate Spanish, Advanced Spanish and Philippine Spanish Literature were mandatory subjects back during my college years. Taking Spanish hasn't done anything for me as far as comprehension goes because after taking these subjects, I never again spoke the language. If you don't use it, you lose it is not a trite expression. It's very true.
