artvader
Hmmm the new iMac with the Thunderbolt interface comes equipped with a custom pin configuration for its hard drives. Pretty soon all Mac models will support this new pin configuration and you won't be able to buy an off-the-shelf hard drive replacement for your Mac. Sneaky b@stards. Classic bait and switch technique. Quote Link to comment

gabrieldesotto
well base on my brother who owns a macbook pro 13 late 2010 when they use the latest MAYA on it it will take forever.... but his GF who has an i5 samsung it rendered flawlessly... then some of his colleague's macbook pro 13inch died while rendering. Well there is a simple explanation. the 2010 13-inch Macbook pro is Core 2 Duo. Samsung is Intel Core i5. No contest. Based on pure specs Maya will definitely work faster on Core i5 than on a core 2 duo. Core 2 Duo is a previous generation processor from Intel. Quote Link to comment

Classic bait and switch technique. Also you can't just put in a new hard drive. There's custom firmware it will need. It sucks, but on the one hand, I'm ok with Apple handling all my computing needs. Quite happy with all the macs i send for repairs. Also non of the annoying things PC hardware gives me. ANd yes, i have several macs and PCs. Annoying when PCs need so much more attention maintenance-wise! Quote Link to comment

erika123
IPAD, Iphone 4 and Macbook Pro. I love everything about Apple. Since I started using Apple, I cannot imagine switching to other brands. Apple has defined a lifestyle all on its own. When you are an Apple user, you don't analyze the functions vis-a-vis the cost, just the way we do it with other products. All our gadgets just sync so well and the functions are quite instinctive and easy to use. Quote Link to comment

West Tres
I have an iMac and a 15" Macbook Pro mostly used for FCP and Photoshop and Lightroom (not a big fan of Aperture) and home use. I use my Windows and Linux machines for work (mostly programming). I also have an iPad (1st gen) which I will be replacing when the 3rd gen iPad is out. Quote Link to comment
