another newbie question for the masters. how much, or what percentage, of the rent of a rental property is taxed by the BIR? what if the association dues is already included in the rent? thanks again...

rental is subject to 5% expanded withholding taxes based on rent net of vat. Association dues should be separated from the rental fee para hindi sya masama sa computation ng expanded withholding tax.

Do I need to file Income Tax for earning made in another country?

I had a consultancy work in Guam & Hong Kong last year. Payment was made in those territories.

All witholding taxes for those income were deducted by those respective governments.

I requested that they send payment via wire transfer to my bank account so as to avoid

carrying $ on the way home.

Question:

1. Is the income tax-free?

2. If not, how will I declre it in the annual income form?

Thanks

(I am assuming you are a Filipino and a Philippine resident.)

For services, what matters is where you performed the services.

If you performed the services abroad (i.e., Guam, HK), then the income is NOT taxable in the Philippines.

Did you report on your books the sale that you made abroad? anyways, pwede mo irecognize yung input mo just amend your vat return until na wala pang loa.. ang di lang pwede irecognize na input vat eh yung ang pag sale mo eh exempt sale.. perop mukhang zero rated sale kaya pwede otherwise you have the option to refund or credit it.

All other papers - BIR monthly documents are in order naman. Ayaw ding ng BIR yung printout from excel file.
