You need to have this if you'll do modifications on your phone

Swiss Manager (http://cellphonesoft.com/sm3.php)

So you think File Manager is showing us everything in our phones? Heck, no!

Just like the ubiquitous Swiss Army Knife, this app extends your Control Panel usability by showing you hidden folders in your phone's internal as well as external memory. Check out Cellphonesoft's website for screencaps of what this wonderful app does. It even shows you your phone's IMEI without having to remember the key sequence ( * # 0 6 # ).

The app has three tabs: Task, Files, and System.

Task lists all apps running at the moment. Instead of using your phone's Task manager to end programs, Swiss Manager's Task interface allows you to close and switch apps. What's more, you actually get to see how much memory each app is using, and more important, how much memory is released when you close running apps. This feature is great if you're running low on memory. You can pick which apps need to be freed up, basing on the bytes they consume.

Oh, if in the first place you don't use your phone's Task Manager to close programs, you'll be surprised at how the habit of NOT CLOSING APPS PROPERLY is actually eating into your phone memory. We tend to think that exiting a program by using the Back button is all right. You don't see the app onscreen, so that's closed. Wrong. Swiss Manager shows you IT'S NOT. Swiss Manager reclaims memory used by the idling app down to the last possible byte. Brushing your teeth is not enough, you have to floss afterwards. So that's what Swiss Manager does: it flosses your phone's memory.

Files is actually an extended version of File Manager -- here you can see hidden directories (you have to enable this option first). There are actually 3 root directories in your phone: C: is your internal RAM, D: your memory card, and there's a Z: drive, the phone's ROM (read-only memory). This is the part of the memory that's normally hidden from view.

Access to hidden system folders is useful when you want to mod your phone.

System provides useful information, such as the IMEI, system uptime (how long your phone has been running since the last power-on), free RAM, your phone's CPU speed, number of apps installed, and the battery level. These details are available on your phone, tho with Swiss Manager you don't have to press so many buttons to see them because they're nicely lumped together in one page.

Swiss Manager lets you manage your phone's precious resources more effectively -- that's the bottomline. Great if you multi-task with your phone.

once you already have the Walkman 3 on your phone, you can do this:

Sound Mod full

Feeling that your UIQ3 has a low sense for loudness in your headset?

NO WORRIES!

Thanks to a Russian dude on my ICQ who gave me the link, and the original author(s) for creating this of course!

First, you install the UIQ3 hack. Then you follow these steps;

0. IF you have used the SOUNDMOD LITE, you must remove it first, by restoring the original "C:\Private\10202be9\persists\1020867a.cre'".

1. Download http://www.agathosyne.de/files_ext/se_uiq3...nd_mod_full.zip

2. Open up SWISS Manager/X-Plore on your phone, and copy "Z:\sys\bin\M3SAudioPolicyMgr.dll" from your phone to your computer.

3. Run "Sound_Patcher_Full.exe", select the file copied from the phone, and press "Install".

4. Copy the patched "M3SAudioPolicyMgr.dll" file back to your phone, into "C:\SYS\BIN", and copy the files from "ATTFiles" to "C:\private\10200B19"

5. Copy the file "Z:\sys\bin\mmmgmtserver.exe" TO "C:\SYS\BIN".

5. Restart your phone.

6. BECOME TOTALLY DEAF

Been using a K750i for 2 1/2 years now. Even as I check out the newer phones, I still can't get myself to replace this. Modded the firmware to W800. K in form, W in sounds. Best of both worlds. :)

just like what I did with my P1i... modded the walkman software of W960 on my phone... :thumbsupsmiley:

This is great and thanks! Got as far as installing the swiss manager. Somehow can't run the capswitch application on my P1i. Went to the link, clicked on Capswitch.sis but nothing happens. Will try to figure things out or hear from you!
