phidze
Sir ricoyan, Please don't keep changing the topic, eto yun topic na claim mo: NOT TRUE, ethanol has less energy density, about 85% compared to gasoline. Kaya expect lower mileage when you use E10 fuel. That's scientifically backed kaya you can't argue about this TRUTH. Ang tinatanong ko ay yun " less energy DENSITY,about 85% compared to gasoline", eh scientifically backed by whom? and the "TRUTH" pa? Paki sagot lang nang mabuti, bago mo maki alam sa topic nang iba. you already misread "85" and "67", eh don't say na misread mo rin yun "DENSITY" and "CONTAIN". Quote Link to comment
ricoyan
a honda motor 90's but can be view at some manufacturer site that is it not recommended. i have already suffer broken fuel pumps after continous usage for 2 months before on seaoil ethanol based fuel. natawa naman ako sa isa dito. sinabi na nga nagka problem yung sasakyan niya gamit e10 pinipilit parin na pwede. :thumbsdownsmiley: HAHAHAHA, ONGGA. NAGMAMARUNONG E. If it's a Honda 90's Japan surplus engine, definitely it can adopt quite well on E-10 HONDA na nga nagsabi hindi pwede, pinipilit pang pwede. HOY, tumahimik ka na lang, masira pa kotse namin dahil sa iyo. Edited July 29, 2009 by ricoyan Quote Link to comment
X3ME15
the idealism of ethanol based fuel mix is undeniably good on paper bec. its a renewable kind of energy source which can benefit the environment but the truth is its not applicable to every engine thus negate the good characteristic of the said source.. it's also undeniable that E-10l isn't compatible to pre 2000 model engines considering the numerous reports of E-10 induced problems all over the internet.. it can't be denied and that's a fact to itself. maybe an 100% ethanol based engine for the masses will be better but that's still in the far future.. The_Blade
back to shell unleaded... di pala ok yung halo halo ng v power, blaze at ibpa.. they have to take down my tank and clean it.. cost me 1.9K for the labor sa casa. plus tapon yung 20 liters na halohalo..... i dont know how true, parang sinasabi nila "one fuel, eats the other" . pero ramdam talaga ang kaibahan ng 96 and up octane.. kupad ng 93. what can i do? baka ma void warranty ko. bengbangerz
the govt was really pushing the use of ethanol. dapat lang talaga may option ka kung mag non ethanol or ethanol mixed gasoline ka. Quote Link to comment
Robinthecat
nice argument here......and i've heard a lot said about E10...about it being good for fuel injected..even that it should even be ok for carbs....about mixing it with regular unleaded first....about technical ek ek.... So i'll only gives my 2 cents based on experience....i drive a nissan sentra manual 2000, carb....my brother drives a Honda Accord, fuel injected automatic but older model. I used to gas up on Shell unleaded regular only. When I noticed they had phased out reg unleaded and had no choice but to gas up on E10, my carb suddenly clogged up a lot. I can't do the mix thing since I only use Shell and they don't have reg unleaded anymore (unless there are stations that still have reg and i haven't seen them). I had to visit my mechanic twice in about 3 weeks because of this and my car, parang hirap huminga ever since. I had to change my fuel filetr daw. I talked with my bro and cousin and there comes all those arguments about E10. Anyway, my bro says that even though his accord's fuel injected, using E10 still caused some problems as it seems the fuel iniipon and dumi, sediments or whatever. So he uses Blaze now which he says doesn't have e10. So i bite, I go to petron, notice XCS is still without E10 and fill up 'Bruce' (my car). Lo and behold, I get back the old responsiveness, no more choking. I've been using XCS since. 95 octane. Hopefully i'll be able to buy a fuel injected drive by the time everything's on E10. But for now, just sharing my E10 experience. Edited August 16, 2009 by Robinthecat Quote Link to comment
