xwhiteshadowz
i just had my 2 molars extracted about 5 hours ago. can i smoke? last 2 weeks ago nbali 2 ipin ko s taas, consecutively in a week,as in putol xa habang kmkain lng ako ng chips. bat keia andali mbali at mcra ipin ko. yeah,im a smoker, i hav gastroesophageal issues, do u guys think dis is wats causing my dental prob? and again, can i smoke now? would der b any prob if i smoke? wat wud it b if der is? pllllssss tel me i can smoke, hahaha. kanina p ko yosing yosi... napatawa ako dito hehehe.. im concerned on the gastroesophageal issue and bakit madali mabali at masira...smoking kasi tend to lower the pressure of the lower esophageal sphincter..this is an anatomical valve that prevents the regurgitation or backflow of the stomach contents...so since your smoking..there is a great possibility that this may happen to you..besides sa effect ng yosi na increase and prodcution ng acid sa stomach..it will also contribute to the reflux of the acid to the esophagus causing damage to your esophagus and if reaching the oral cavity this may also damage the teeth...frequent reflux to the esophagus is not healthy since the esophagus have a different cellular make way too different from the stomach which can handle acidity...modification of the cells in the esophagus may start an error in cell formation resulting to dysplasia which may progress to cancer...smoking also cause vasoconstriction of peripheral blood vessels.. so theoretically... wag muna sana yosi since your wound needs good blood flow for repair/cleaning debris like bacteria o dead cells.. just my opinion...hth well anyway..late na post ko at nakapagyosi ka na :upside: Edited November 18, 2008 by xwhiteshadowz Quote Link to comment

virtuoso2022
I have one of my front teeth on porcelain jacket. But i experience occasional feels (mild pain) when i drink cold water. In my understanding about the root canal thing is that I will not feel anything anymore since the roots are removed already, right? I had it xrayed and the dentist told me there is no problem with the root canal procedure. Do i need to have another xray for confirmation? It was done about 10 years ago, first as plastic jacket , and after 3 years i replaced it with porcelain. Now, I observed there was a discoloration on my gums and its bad like as if i have a smoker's dark gum (only on the jacket part). I am also not confident with my jacket coz my floss get smelly on that part. Is it a leak, did my jacket loosen up, or my base teeth deteriorated? Do i need to replace my jacket? I heard about implants (sam as Regine Velasquez's and Alan K's) and if this will clear off my problems, i am willing to save for it. Is it costy? How was the procedure done? Advance thanks to the helpful specialists 1 Quote Link to comment

kingpopoy
just like to ask how much is the normal tooth extraction jan sa atin sa pinas!?!? namamhalan kce ako dito e.... ano po ba ang temporary gamot sa sakit ng ipin.... dba hindi naman binubunutan kapag masakit....tnx... AFAIK prices ranges from 300-1k per tooth, depending on the difficulty, location, and reputation of the dentist. well root canal theraphy is the more conservative approach to preserve the tooth, however there are certain cases wherein it cannot be done. for pain i would suggest you take mild pain relievers e.g. mefenamic acid (ponstan 500mg) to moderate ones e.g tramadol (any brand). seek professional help if pain cannot be managed anymore. happy holidays! :thumbsupsmiley: Quote Link to comment
