Gideon
Lithium na rin? Nimh are also ok..but in the case of the canon g9... you don't have a choice sa stock battery...unless you wanna go for replacements... yes its true lithium ions are the choice for high-end dslrs ...but in point and shoot stuff...depende na lng... yes g9 is better than the s5 is..but would you really buy it? i'd go for a dslr if i got the budget..if i don't maybe the s5 is...a better buy i think the g9 is for the high flyers..but maybe you are... just my two cents... dpreview.com or cameralabs.com I'd chose the G9 because of it's COMPACT. But ofcourse the S5 IS has more features. Quote Link to comment

fire_breather
16-85 f3.5 to 5.6 VR, nice all-around lens... I'm a bit disappointed that Nikon set the price almost the same as the 18-200 VR. I don't think losing 2mm at the wide end makes up for losing 115mm at the zoom side :thumbsdownsmiley: they should bring this down to somewhere in the middle of 18-200 and 18-70 prices. Soo true... Nikon lenses though higly regarded in quality are sometimes over-rated and sadly over-priced. In my personal opinion. The 16-50mm f2.8 Tokina would be a better investment than the 16-85mm f3.5-5.6 new offering from Nikon even with it's VR. A fast constant aperture more than makes up for not having a VR. Based upon an individual's style of shooting, it is wise to do research and some comparison shopping between branded and off-brand compatibles as there are 2nd party lenses that truly gives the best bang for your buck so to speak without sacrifice in quality and performance. Then again if money is no object, sticking with the perennial favorites should be no issue. Edited February 29, 2008 by fire_breather Quote Link to comment

I am planning to buy a camera.. i'm kinda interested in starting photography as a hobby. what cameras can you recommend? looking at d40x or a canon eos camera. What kinda lenses should I get? yun lens ba ng nikon will fit to a canon? or vice versa? or even other lenses? If you can recommend a website as well where i can read through about photography and photoshop as a refresher. Thanks Quote Link to comment

Speksto
hello! may gray blobs agad yung mga shots ko, is it dust from the sensor or the lens? what cleaning kit do you use? price? thanks! sir, have you tried changing lenses and seeing if the blob is appearing at the exact position? if it does, then nasa sensor na yung dust mo niyan. usually blower bulb lang ok na yan. NEVER mo hihipan ang sensor mo. go sa mga camera shops and ask for a cleaning kit. sa hidalgo madami. or if you can't afford it right now, ang ginagamit ko before was yung babyflo na nasal aspirator (rubber suction bulb) when i was starting. mas madali bumili niyan kasi sa mga watsons meron niyan eh.
