iwalkalone
SandmanDoom and Gloom Did you notice that shadow at night? That moved like a wraith at the edge of your sight. That melted away as you turned on the light. That my love was me Did you hear that noise at night? That awoke you from sleep with panic and frightThat seemed out of place & not quite rightThat my love was me Did you feel that touch at night? Upon your throat so very tightUntil your world is burning whiteThat my love is me Quote Link to comment
naked_angel
brown pennywb yeats I WHISPERED, "i am too young,"and then, "i am old enough";wherefore i threw a pennyto find out if i might love."go and love, go and love, young man,if the lady be young and fair."ah, penny, brown penny, brown penny,i am looped in the loops of her hair.o love is the crooked thing, there is nobody wise enoughto find out all that is in it,for he would be thinking of lovetill the stars had run awayand the shadows eaten the moon.ah, penny, brown penny, brown penny, one cannot begin it too soon. Wyld
My favorite Neruda poem. Dont Go Far OffPablo Neruda Don't go far off, not even for a day, because -- because -- I don't know how to say it: a day is long and I will be waiting for you, as in an empty station when the trains are parked off somewhere else, asleep. Don't leave me, even for an hour, because then the little drops of anguish will all run together, the smoke that roams looking for a home will drift into me, choking my lost heart. Oh, may your silhouette never dissolve on the beach; may your eyelids never flutter into the empty distance. Don't leave me for a second, my dearest, because in that moment you'll have gone so far I'll wander mazily over all the earth, asking, Will you come back? Will you leave me here, dying? TotalGravity
If you forget me I want you to knowone thing. You know how this is: if I look at the crystal moon, at the red branch of the slow autumn at my window, if I touch near the fire the impalpable ash or the wrinkled body of the log, everything carries me to you, as if everything that exists, aromas, light, metals, were little boats that sail toward those isles of yours that wait for me. Well, now, if little by little you stop loving me I shall stop loving you little by little. If suddenly you forget me do not look for me, for I shall already have forgotten you. If you think it long and mad, the wind of banners that passes through my life, and you decide to leave me at the shore of the heart where I have roots, remember that on that day, at that hour, I shall lift my arms and my roots will set off to seek another land. But if each day, each hour, you feel that you are destined for me with implacable sweetness, if each day a flower climbs up to your lips to seek me, ah my love, ah my own, in me all that fire is repeated, in me nothing is extinguished or forgotten, my love feeds on your love, beloved, and as long as you live it will be in your arms without leaving mine. - Pablo Neruda Quote Link to comment
TotalGravity
INVICTUSWilliam Ernest Henley (1849–1903) Out of the night that covers me, Black as the Pit from pole to pole, I thank whatever gods may be For my unconquerable soul. In the fell clutch of circumstance I have not winced nor cried aloud. Under the bludgeonings of chance My head is bloody, but unbowed. Beyond this place of wrath and tears Looms but the Horror of the shade, And yet the menace of the years Finds, and shall find, me unafraid. It matters not how strait the gate, How charged with punishments the scroll, I am the master of my fate: I am the captain of my soul. Been reciting it since I was 12. Wrote a lot of short stories, poems, and full-length plays based on it during my earlier high school years. Quote Link to comment

naked_angel
love's secret NEVER seek to tell thy love, love that never told can be; for the gentle wind doth move silently, invisibly. i told my love, i told my love, i told her all my heart, trembling, cold, in ghastly fears. ah! she did depart! soon after she was gone from me, a traveller came by, silently, invisibly: he took her with a sigh. -william blake Edited April 8, 2007 by Naked_Angel Quote Link to comment
portia
Try and Try© By David Cook I have always seen life for what it really is. Ever since I was a child growing up, hard times are all I know. I had to sit back and watch my mother work from sunset to sundown. I had to sit back and watch my mother work herself to her grave. Nothing ever came easy for her. She always had a heart and kept a smile on her face. Life is like a newborn baby struggling to come out of its mother's womb, life is a struggle true enough, but after all the struggling you have done, and after all the hell you have been through, there is success. Life is nothing but a big struggle, but just keep the faith and focus on your goals. Don't let life beat you or you will be walking around like zombies. Keep on pushing, keep on trying, life can be whatever you make it to be. But life can also be a bowl of cherries with whip cream and apple pie. I say this again; life is what you make of it. You can achieve or conquer anything it throws at you, you can't quit or give up, you have got to keep on working, look higher some way, some how you are going to make it. Quote Link to comment
lemon
two well-assorted travellers usethe highway, eros and the muse.from the twins is nothing hidden,to the pair is nought forbidden;hand in hand the comrades goevery nook of nature through:each for other they were born, each can other best adorn;they know one only mortal griefpast all balsam or relief;when, by false companions crossed, the pilgrims have each other lost. that's "love and thought" from ralph waldo emerson. minus the title, could just have been two people, no? fry_saging
As the topic say the saddest. Yung mga narinig mo na talagang mangiyakngiyak kana kasi tumagos... hehehehe... Alam ko corny pero lahat naman siguro tayo may ganito.. Sonnet 17 of Neruda's 100 Love Sonnets It is also made popular in Patch adams I do not love you as if you were salt-rose, or topaz,or the arrow of carnations the fire shoots off.I love you as certain dark things are to be loved,in secret, between the shadow and the soul. I love you as the plant that never bloomsbut carries in itself the light of hidden flowers;thanks to your love a certain solid fragrance, risen from the earth, lives darkly in my body. I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where.I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride;so I love you because I know no other way than this: where I does not exist, nor you,so close that your hand on my chest is my hand,so close that your eyes close as I fall asleep." David Aames
There's a special level of comfort between matching soulsAn unbreakable bond of constant support and closeness Its when a warm embrace feels so rightOr when two hands fit so snugly Its a feeling that's hard to define but easy to recognize And when you find that comfort you just knowyou'll never let go Everybody in this world is scaredAnd sometimes, it takes two scared persons to do one brave thing: To fall in love.
