angel_by_day
Hi,ask ko lang po... kasi meron po akong kakilala na seaman na nagwowork sa isang chemical tanker...may napansin dw kasi xa nitong mga nakaraang araw... nagkakapasa na daw kasi xa... eh d naman daw xa nabubunggo at dishwashing lng naman ang gngwa nya... i'm just worried baka dahil sa isang chemical tanker xa nagwowork.. e d ba hazardous? hindi kaya may side effect sa knya ung chemicals na nsa barko?please pm me n lng for you answer... thanks It will depend on what type of chemical, the amount he is exposed to, etc.....Bleeding tendencies like the one you mentioned may stem from many types of blood dyscrasias (meaning, blood disorder)....and may or may not be related to his line of work. He should have his CBC, bleeding time, clotting time, prothrombin time and PTT checked. Quote Link to comment

angel_by_day
i suggest an out-patient psychiatric consult for you...which is nothing that you should be ashamed of, really....it's pretty much like any other medical consult. Usually, in dependence, there are other underlying issues involved.... if an out-patient consult will not suffice, usually the psych recommends rehab and wellness centers, wherein you can either be accomodated as a stay-in client, or be treated as an outpatient... but that may already be too far-fetched...again, it will depend on the level of your dependence, if its just beginning, or at its worse. blackwind
Blackwind, how are the morbidity rates for lap hernioraphy? I'm not sure if I misheard that morbidity rates are higher compared to traditional repair. Or I might have confused it with poor outcomes for lap appendectomy. Thanks bro! well in our hospital wala pa kasing nagagawang lap hernio kasi mas mahal compared sa traditional approach pero with regards sa complication based on literature parehas lang in terms of recurrence the main difference lang is un chronic pain which is more associated with the open approach since there is impingement of the nerves na wala sa lap technique. There is no significant advantage when you so a lap herniorrhaphy, except for the scar. The chronic pain associated with the open technique can be avoided if you know your anatomy. I have done lap herniorrhaphies and it offers better cosmetic results. Nasa pasyente yan kung gaanong ka-vain sila pagdating sa scar. Quote Link to comment
easyhard
hello, im just wondering, meron akong parang pimple sa anus, std ba yon? Pimple sa anus? It could be just a skin lesion or a fistula-in-ano. The skin problem will resolve. But a fistula-in-ano needs some corrective measures. I suggest you see a surgeon so that it can be properly evaluated. Try searching the internet about this: http://www.tribuneindia.com/2005/20050608/health.htm Quote Link to comment

Wyld
What pain reliever can I take or apply to my wrist? Ive been having recurring pain on my right wrist, I think it was because I strained it doing some needlepoint and then strained it some more lifting weights. Right now, it hurts when I use a pen. The pain is more a dull throb and when I stretch my wrist/fingers, it hurts a little more. Theres no swelling on the wrist or anything like that. Quote Link to comment

At night it'll help to keep it in a neutral position as you sleep with a splint, application of a warm compress for around 15 minutes twice to three times a day can also help. Quote Link to comment

easyhard
Check with your doctor. There are some debilitating conditions in the wrist in which a nerve is impinged, causing pain like in carpal tunnel syndrome. But judging from your description, it could be a tear of a tendon or ligaments. If it is just a traumatic tear, it is important for you to rest and if possible "immobilize" that hand. Pain relievers can help. But as I have said earlier, have it evaluated with a specialist, an orthopedic. Better be safe. Remember, you are taking about your dominant hand, the hand you use for writing, eating, etc. Quote Link to comment
