Genesis_MD
Hi, Just want to ask something about tubercolosis. 2 years ago, i had a bad cough. There are spots of blood in my cough. Then i went for a checkup and the doctor said the blood that i saw was from my throat because of the roughness and the cough was because of mycoplasma. I was treated with medicine back then, and it went away. Now, i have been coughing bad again. My throat was the one triggering the cough. It's very itchy. It's been 3 weeks since i started coughing again. Yesterday, i went to the doctor and got an xray. Now my problem is this, the xray technician told me that i had a healed tb scar probably for 2 years now. I am shocked because i was never been diagnosed and i don't have any symptoms...now i am very worried. Am i still going to have a tubercolosis even if it's already healed? And is it possible that the TB healed itself? Please help me. Thanks.Overall, it is estimated that up to 10% of infected persons will eventually develop active TB in their lifetime half of them during the first 18 months after infection. The risk is much higher among HIV-infected persons. Reinfection of a previously infected individual, which is common in areas with high rates of TB transmission, may also favor the development of disease. Reinfection of a previously infected individual, which is common in areas with high rates of TB transmission, may also favor the development of disease. Kaya its very important to consult a pulmonolgist, to have a right diagnosis and proper treatment. BTW, im not a pulmonologist, iba po ang subspecialty ko. ☺ Quote Link to comment
flashman
Can anyone recommend a good gastroenterologist in st. Lukes or capitol medical center? Laging sumasakit sikmura after drinking coffee. Minsan kapag after kumain or iinom ng tubig. Masakit parang burning sensation sa ilalim lang ng dibdib. I'am Suspecting ulcer or gerd ba yun? Dati nawawala after a day or two pero napapadalas na ngayon lalo na after consuming alcohol. Thanks. Edited March 13, 2016 by 314 Quote Link to comment

hint-of-lime
Hi, ask ko lang po. May problem po kasi ako with my back. Para bang lagi ko po siyang gustong unatin nang unatin po. Yung pakiramdam na para pong gusto niyong baliin yung likuran po. Exaggerated, but that's how I feel sometimes. Sometimes I also hold my breath to feel my back. Ano po kaya 'to? Baka pwersado ang mga back muscles mo kaya parang stiff ang pakiramdam. This is a problem often overlooked in people who work in the office na prolonged sitting ang problema especially those who work long periods on a laptop. If you do desk work, for every hour na nakaupo, take five to ten minutes to stand up and stretch. Quote Link to comment
baymaxxx
high blood pressure is a bitch! starting 5 years ago, i became very active and started healthy eating. since then i have lost 70lbs (from 250 to 180lbs).. i don't smoke, drink, i avoid processed food, i avoid fried foods, i do a lot of cardio (bike, run, swim) and weights.. but still i have high bp, 130/110.. now i have to take maintenance meds.Regarding Hypertension, there's a lot of factors to consider:a) Family History- If both sides have it (most likely you'll have it in the future!) Life style and eating habit - eat healthy , live healthy. don't smoke, avoid excessive alcohol drinking, exercise at least 30 mins everyday. avoid sweets, fatty, salty, soft drinks, sweets and too much food. Lastly maintain this lifestyle and stick to your diet.c) Previously Hypertensive - if you had been a diagnosed hypertensive patient, it sticks with you for the rest of your life man. Now, what you can do is life style modification and if its that bad you get maintenance meds and you have to stick with it, otherwise you can get the nasty complications like stroke . HPN can f#&k up your your whole body especially your brain, heart and kidneys.d) Pain?Hot and Humid temp? exercise recently before checking BP- these are other factors to consider as they all contribute to elevating heart rate which affects your BPe) regular check up with your MD- your doctor will ask your about whole medical history and prev. meds taken. From this he'll ask some labs regarding your condition and give your meds tailored to it. Don't forget to Follow-up regularly. with this, live long and prosper Just a follow up question, when can my gf take a PT to check if nordette was effectiveTell your GF to take PT 2 weeks after your last intercourse. It's usually by this time the hormone which the PT picks up elevates Quote Link to comment
basikmasiklab
Hi, I'm having pain right below the heart, I presume, whenever I inhale deeply. Although the pain doesn't radiate anywhere except for that part. Can someone enlighten me on what could this be? Thank you in advance. 1 Quote Link to comment

It could be costochondritis or muscle pain, in all likelihood. But then again, I would advise that you seek MD consult and get an ECG asap. Left-sided chest pain could mean a variety of possibilities -- from muscle pain to stable / unstable angina to an actual myocardial infarction. I wouldn't proceed to ask you questions to arrive at a diagnosis because I prefer that you see do an actual MD consult, which could never be substituted by whatever advice we give here Edited April 14, 2016 by ermita rojo Quote Link to comment
