The short answer is no — at least not yet.

Viagra is designed to increase blood flow to the genitals. Viagra works well for many men who suffer with impotence — or erectile dysfunction — because it's considered a physical — rather than an emotional — problem. Viagra works by blocking an enzyme that acts as an inhibitor of blood flow. In men, this can cause penile tissue to swell. When a man takes Viagra, there is an increase in blood flow to the genital areas, which thus helps to treat erectile dysfunction or impotence in men.

Done some readings and these are some studies currently being done:

L-arginine amino acid cream purported to increase vaginal blood flow using the same amino acid previously used by athletes to increase muscle development

DHEA or the use of supplements of the male hormone Dehydroepiandrosterone, which is produced both by the adrenal gland and ovaries and converted into testosterone and estrogen. However, use of these supplements carries the risk of heart attacks, breast cancer, and emasculating side effects may also occur.

Testosterone Therapy for women who have undergone an oophorectomy (ovary removal) or a hysterectomy. A testosterone patch has recently been created to improve sexual health in women, but has failed to gain approval by the FDA.

While Viagra-like drugs may help the 20 percent of women reported to have difficulties with lubrication (blood flow to the female genitals increase lubrication), it's unknown to what degree such drugs would help the 43 percent of women with sexual dysfunction who either say they're uninterested in sex or that sex provides little pleasure.

In the end, female sexual dysfunction seems to be psychologically — rather than physically — rooted. Cindy Meston, assistant professor of clinical psychology at the University of Texas at Austin has these to say: "What the genitals are doing may play a less important role in how a woman defines her sexual arousal," "I don't think there will ever be an aphrodisiac that will make women want to have sex all the time."

Hi mga docs,

Got my urine check today and everything was normal except for one.

My WBC counts is 3-4hpf... does this mean that i have some kind of infection?

Unang nagpacheck-up sa akin yung partner ko and may UTI din sya and an increase in pus cell counts ata. binigyan sya ng med onorflaxin (sound like )

question, could i get infected with UTI also with sexual intercourse?

And you think na malala ang 3-4hpf reading ng WBC sa urine or hindi naman sya big problem?

BTW, my lower back is aching too as of now... DI ko lam kung dala lang sya ng work ko.

any doc in the house?

pwede po ba,magtanong

kasi nephew ko,may fever at nagsusuka?

ano po kaya ito?

di ko madala sa doctor,,

mag wait pa ako nanay nya..

any doctor in here?

Naku, fever and vomiting in a child could mean a lot of things.

How old is your nephew?

Give your nephew lots of fluids so he won't be dehydrated. Pero dahan-dahan lang kasi baka naman magsuka.

Kung parang sinat lang naman, puwede mo syang punasan to control the temp.

Sana dumating na nanay nya by now.

hi everybody,

i have this condition called nose polyps which has been irritating me for as long as i can remember, the cause of this is unknown, now, from what i've read, treatment of this includes spraying of steroids (if not effective) then cautery. but based on what i've read on the net, even if we undergo the process of cautery (surgically removing the polyps), it frequently returns... do anyone share the same conditions like this? what have you guys done? if you've have experienced cautery, then how much does it cost? does it recur? if yes then more or less how long? i hope that you guys can share to me if you have similar experience on this condition... thanks...

UTI is more common in women because they have a shorter urethra (where ur urine passes). its not related to anything maalat, noodles or coke. its more common symptoms are dysuria (masakit ang pag-ihi), suprapubic pain (sa may puson area), slight fever. kelangan ng urinalysis or better yet a urine culture to diagnose UTI and before giving the patient meds for it.

your condition known as nasal polyposis / nasal polyps most frequently occur in person/s with nasal allergy or allergic rhinitis, if the polyp/s is/are small you can try nasal steroid but if it is big then surgery is done usually functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS) or just plain polypectomy-ethmoidectomy-antrostomy (PEA) followed by topical/nasal steroid for maintenance (maintenance - 6 months or more depends on the situation). Cautery either by chemical or electrical can be done on a case to case basis also if the polyp/s is/are small. Price is dictated by the difficulty of procedure and the location of the clinic... high end clinic or hospital will be costlier than in ordinary private clinics... just visit your nearest otolaryngologist-head and neck surgeon (ENT_HNS) for consultation.... :thumbsupsmiley:

I'm sorry my friend but I would beg to disagree. This thread was placed here as a service to our members who may have questions about whatever illness they or someone close to them may have. As medical practitioners, we are able to give only SUPERFICIAL OPINIONS based on whatever data the member provides. The medical opinions posted here DO NOT IN ANY WAY REPLACE A PROPER HISTORY AND PHYSICAL EXAMINATION BY A TRAINED PHYSICIAN.

I have several points toask:

1. What guarantee do I have that what you are selling is the real thing and not a fake? Wht is your source?

2. Drug dispensing is practically the sole function of a pharmacist. Doctors prescribe. It is not ethical for physicians like us to dispense the drugs we are prescribing to our patients as there can be a conflict of interest on our part. Under the pharmacy law, doctors may be allowed to dispense only those medicines that they directly administer either by injection or inhalation or direct application to specific organs. (examples are vaccines, chemotherapeutics, dermatological preparations).

3. Did you purchase these drugs or were they acquired for free? (donation or otherwise). If you have no financial exposure in the procurement of these drugs, I suggest you pass it on to the needy for free. This will be a worthy and guilt-free endeavor for you.

4. We have a number of charity patients in our institution. We sure will appreciate your kind donation.

PM me for your list and let us help the needy.

Docs,

i have this recurring viral problem sa blood ko..,iam very prone to viral fever, coughs, flus.. pero mostly fever that would run on and off for a period of at least 2 weeks, everytime nahohospitilize ako on the doctor would say its viral fever(not typhoid, coz i specifically asked) lang or something, pero pag sa record ng nurses it says its some kind of typhoid fever, which was never confirmed by any of my doctors, i have been confined several times for this, the doctors would only give me some fever meds, to tone down my fever, especially pag erratic un recurrance in a day ng fever ko...

could anybody shed light on this.. para kasing masyado vague yun mga binibigay sa akin na recommendations from my doctors.. basta all i know its something to do with my blood..kaya banned ako for blood donations..

btw.. i was previously diagnosed to be an early candidate for luekemia several times

thanx

if you have anemia, high WBC and recurring fever, it's correct for the doctor to consider a hematologic disease such as leukemia... have you ever been completely worked up for a hematologic problem?

at the very least, a peripheral blood smear; reticulocyte count and serrum ferritin should have been done. See a hematologist and find out if you need more invasive tests like a bone marrow aspirate to check for hematologic disorders.
