Huge_Bird
I like shawarma, although I don't always have the opportunity to eat it, since my better half don't like shawarma. But so far, I've only tried shawarma at the food stalls of Rustan's Supermarket and SM Manila, and i kinda like the one in SM Manila since they offer the shawarma as toppings to rice. Switlass
I think you're referring to 'Gyros'. I like it too, but can only tolerate it for three or four bites, afterwhich kailangan may strong mints right after. Tapang e I like shawarma. I have the bell pepper and the onions removed though. In Bf P'que, there are two shawarma shacks. One is in Pres. Ave, a few meters off Sucat road, if I'm not mistaken, it is simply called 'Shawarma'. This is owned by an authentic Persian person, and the quality is really great. Meat is not only tender, but is juicy as well. The veggies are not too over whelming, plus the sauces complement rather than over power the taste of the meat. They offer other great delis as well at a very reasonable price. The other one is 'Gourmet' Palate', infront of Pinoy Montessori in Aguirre Ave, a few meters off the Villages' entrance. They offer other mexican food like nachos and tacos. They serve steaks and rice meals (the 'Takaw rice' series). Although the rice meals are great, I'm not going to suggest the shawarma. A few years ago, nung si Manang Adel pa yung nagbabantay, ok yung quality - ngayon hindi na. The meat is very dry, the bread comes from the store and the veggies are not so fresh. The sauce - well.. basta masarap yung rice meal. You can use the sauce there. masarap. About a year ago there was one across Tropical Hut BF, Pres Ave. This one served the best Shawarma ever. Pita bread pa lang, panalo na. The hot sauce was thick with seeds of the ground pepper ( or whatever that hot stuff is), and you can only put a few dabs otherwise you'd need be needing milk. The raddish sauce is not too garlicky, as others tend to be. This one is just right, a bit sweet, but perfect just the same. They also served Other stuffs like ox brain - (yummy), The bean curd and the Egg plant thingie ( i forgot what they're called.) too bad they had to go back home. acidboy
Guest smb999
sorry to burst your bubble guys, pero all the best shawarma's here won't half compare with tha real thang... those made in the middle east. pero a good second would be those found around the glori supermart areas. i'm just not sure if all marts have that stall pero three that i've been to do. it's a simple shawarma stand... hope you find it!
