crazykalbo
i used to work in a call center for almost 3 years: 1 year & 3 months in etelecare as a technical support representative for Dell, then 1 year & 7 months in convergys as a technical support representative for Bellsouth. i learned a lot from the trainings i had with these companies. the biggest improvement was the manner i converse in english. i really improved a lot, got the american twang (sadly, it never disappeared even after i left the call center industry). in terms of technical stuff, i didnt learn that much compared to what im going through right now as an IT SUPPORT SPECIALIST for an international law firm. right now, im getting exposed to so much IT-related stuff, old and new ones. im glad i left the call center industry! twentyone
i will have to say that one of the side effects of being a cc agent is that you are "pressured" to display your earnings, meaning most (not all) spend all their salaries. Sometimes, they spend even more, when they max out their credit cards. Celfones, clothes, shoes, gimiks...etc are becoming a priority and no plans for the future whatsoever. i think this applies to everyone but it is magnified in the cc industry coz it is where the easy money is. mark_pogi
well IMHO, most of its ups and downs are applicable to those who work in operations. otherwise, enjoy naman ang buhay QA sa callcenter.  Quote Link to comment

Guest mirang
3 yrs of working sa ofis, pero maliit lang ung offer til i decided to work in cc and it's already been 2 yrs na and ok naman ung compensation compared to my previous jobs... side effect is, nakaroon ako ng attitude problem, di ko macontrol ung temper ko kung minsan especially when i'm pissed off, sinisigawan ko din ung cust and my final written warning na din ako sa rude behaviour and wla na akong social life because i only exist when most people are sleeping Quote Link to comment
hushpuppy20
been working in the CC business for almost 4 years now....side effect? nasira ng tuluyan body clock ko but nevertheless,it's been a good experience, especially the compensation HOLIDAY CHEERS TO EVERYONE!! http://img37.picoodle.com/img/img37/5/12/23/f_christmas11m_b5735e0.jpg Quote Link to comment
capo
After reading past comments, I have noticed that there are a lot of people that want to adapt the accent of an American. This is my advice to you people, do not be ashamed if you talk in English and you have a Filipino accent. As an example, when the late Benazir Bhutto spoke in English, she spoke with an accent. But, to press my point, there are a lot of commentators and scholars who praise her for her intellect and do not mind her accent. In the meantime, why do a lot of Filipinos feel shame when having speaking with an accent? In an example, why do Filipinos make fun of a person with a "Bisaya" accent while they do not make fun of Bob Marley? Think about it. There is nothing to be ashamed about being a Filipino. Damn colonizers! Quote Link to comment
yhance
the side effect....poor working conditions....tama sinabi ni hushpuppy nakakasira talaga ng body clock tsaka nakakataba good thing is..andaming nagagandahang chixxx....na possibleng candidate for a playmate Edited December 29, 2007 by yhance Quote Link to comment
