While condoms are very effective in combatting HIV (your worst worst worst fear), it does not entirely protect you from herpes, warts, syphilis and HPV.

HIV does not have symptoms, although most experience flu after 2-3 weeks. If you had UNPROTECTED PENETRATION then get tested. Otherwise there's nothing to fear.

Herpes, warts syphilis, gonorrhea and HPV all have visible symptoms. Gonorrhea (yellow stain and blood) show up within a week while the others show up after 2-3 weeks.

Pag hindi HIV nakuha mo, be thankful na kasi malaking tinik na nawala sayo. The others are curable, HIV IS NOT.

Avoid having sex with someone you do not know.

Avoid wearing double condom. Two condoms will increase friction, increasing the chance of the condom tearing up.

If you notice anything weird, whether it be warts, white stains, blood, red patches, or lumps on your penis, it's highly likely that it's STD, Consult your doctor asap and get the necessary treatments.

You can simply imagine how condoms can significantly lessen the chances of you getting STD. The entire shaft of your penis is protected with latex rubber, leaving no chance for vaginal fluid to come in contact with your shaft. Had it not been effective, nagkalat na siguro ang STD beyond our imagination.

Common ang HIV sa mga homosexuals kasi wala silang reason gumamit ng condom, hindi naman sila nabubuntis. Nakakalimutan nila pang prevent din ng STD ang condom. Kaya common sa kanila ang HIV. Male to male anal sex is also the "riskiest" deed since its easy to get a wound in the anus, and the male fluids are more infectious.

Wear a condom during both ORAL , ANAL, VAGINAL intercourse and do NOT eat tahong.

Mahirap na kapag nagkaroon kna ng sakit, prevention is better than cure

I read a quote from a renowned HIV doctor

"Assessing HIV risk is very simple, as long as their is no UNPROTECTED PENIS inside a VAGINA or a RECTUM, there's no HIV"

Just wanted to share it :)

Kung pwede lang, this thread should be linked with the MP forums, para maremind ang mga MP goers to play it safe, if not avoid it at all.

Sobrang hassle laging maparanoid at magpatest. Iisa isahin mo talaga lahat ng STDs and you will cross examine each and everyone with yourself. It's not like fever to na one week lang lalabas na. No this can go on for months. If you have gone through this anxiety, I doubt you'll go to another MP ever again.

This anxiety is even more fueled by queries, cases and advices found on the internet. Studies have shown that people always look for the worst case scenario even though most of the cases they have read posed little or no risk at all.

What is important is we give accurate facts as not to give unnecessary worry. Risk is a very broad term. You still have to classify it under high moderate low or very low risk.

Docs,

How often should I have a regular scheduled exam?

If you are highly active, every 3-4 months. Tests are a small price to pay to ensure you get the proper treatment as early as possible.

TYVM sir. I've always been the maarte and maselan, OCD type of guy.And I was never a real horndog. I never imagined I'd be a semi regular visitor of MPs, kahit nyan lang 1 or 2 years ago. The whole MP culture kind of freaked me out.

Pero once you've tried it out one time, medyo nade-desensitise ka (not sure if that's the right word) pero nakaka takot pa rin talaga kahit sobrang vanilla lang at maingat ang action.

Safe sex, as little bare skin contact/exchange of bodily fluids as possible.

I'm lucky I'm still OK, the last time I got tested, March 2011.

I promise to stop na. 1 last time na lang, to say goodbye sa regular ko.

Thanks.

^not necessarily within 3 days. Symptoms can appear anytime within the day of exposure up to months. They can also suddenly disappear, but that doesnt mean that you're cured.

Testing is but a small price to maintain good health. Pag may gonorhea ka tapos hindi mo natest, after a few years it can lead to more severe complications na pagsisisihan mo you didnt test before.

As for the test price I don't know. Drop by the Manila Social Hygiene Clinic beside San Lazaro Hospital. They're open Mondays to Thursday 8am-4pm :)

^Consult with the doctor first before undergoing testing. May resident doctors ang MSHC that can help you. If not, consult with a doctor first in any reputable hospital in Metro Manila.

any sexually active person regardless of whether you use a condom or not is advised to undergo regular STD/HIV checking every 6 months, unless you practice abstinence or is in a monogamous relationship already.
