i honestly think i'm not in the good-looking category. Well, on occasion, i've been described as a "hunk" and "ruggedly handsome," but always, in all truth, have taken those descriptions with a big grain of salt. Hahaha, everytime.

 

Because those descriptions are about the external. As it has been said in different ways here, ugly and beautiful are what's inside a person, which determines how they behave and relate with other people. It's about how they feel about themselves and others, their character, not "car," although the "car" makes for convenience, and you can't go on dates unless you can pay for dinner and drinks, etc.

 

Conversely, i think a woman is beautiful not because she looks it on the surface, but because of the entire person that she is.

 

A woman (for that matter a man) can have "it" without being an outstanding specimen of physical beauty.

the type of woman referred to here is the beautiful, glamorous type. i'd say it is out of vanity, as a less attractive man only highlights her more. it can only help if the guy can finance everything needed for her to keep her looks.

My take on this is that most beautiful women have a tough time getting 'handsome' guys who are patient enough to tolerate their drama - no woman has drama like a beautiful woman. The average handsome guy knows he can get almost any girl he wants, whereas the ugly guy will treat his beautiful girl like a rare gem.
