  1. I like it. It has the speed of Safari and sometimes feels even faster but also the potential of Firefox.

I like the way it defaults to staying in the tab you are on even if you create a new tab.

New tabs also bring up a feature similar to Safari's where your browsing history is displayed as miniature web pages instead of just words like a bookmark list.

My wife and daughter likes the themes it came with which says a lot since the themes of Firefox are not as pretty.

When you start typing a URL in the address bar, Firefox will drop down a list of possible web sites that you might be trying to access based on your history. You will then have to scroll down and choose the right page even if it was the very next one. In Chrome, you just hit enter when the pop up display the page you want on the first line.

chrome also loads very fast. faster than safari which is already way faster than firefox.

    thanks!

    Hi sir Boom

Galing mo mag Filipino hehehe... I had to read some parts twice to understand the sentences. Anyway, I need your advice on something, and since you have never failed to present a logical view on things, I would really appreciate your opinion. My old macbook is due (in my opinion) for replacement later this year. Of course, I would prefer replacing it with another MAC, but the economical cheap part of me is thinking, why not just get an Acer or an HP that is about a third of the price of a Mac? Then just use the rest of the money left over for the budgeted Mac and upgrade or something? I mean i enjoy using my mac without much fear of viruses, system crashes, compatibility issues... but is 40thousand pesos additional worth it? Or are we all just being snobs by preferring a mac over a pc? Please humor me, I know I sound stupid, being a mac user and asking this, but this debate has been playing around in my head. Thoughts anyone? Help me from falling over back to the dark side

  3. if the fax machine has a bluetooth receiver technically i can be done. the limitation that i can see here is the distance between the sending and receiving devices.

No I mean like using your MAC with just your cellphone's line. No fax machine, like when you use your PC as a fax, with the phone line just plugged into the pc. Except, you use your cellphone with your MAC

  4. big help! thanks.

  5. played this game in xbox 360... addictive as hell. the thing about this is, hindi kayo pwedeng mag kanya kanya. you have to keep your team mates alive if you want to survive and finish the level. So you cand hoard the first aid kits. you have to heal your team mate in order for the whole team to survive the zombies and bosses.

  6. tom collins is a perfect drink to end a hot summer day with (bagay dito sa pinas)

    2 ounces Gin

  8. On RAM:

For as long as you know the form factor (Sodimms for laptops), type and speed, you can buy RAM for your Mac locally. Go to www.crucial.com to check out their memory configurator for specific Mac models.

    On MB Batteries:

The cheapest way to get replacement Macbook batteries is mail order. There is a place in Eastwood and Virra Mall that opens up your battery pack and replaces the lithium cells with news ones and that alternative is cheaper. I remember giving them charging P2k for a thinkpad battery pack repair that would have cost double that at the time. I also remember them not being able to find the right cells for my Powerbook then. But they just might have it. I will look for the details of this place and post it here.

Doing a full discharge and charge doesn't not increase the battery life of your battery, it just helps make sure that it is able to retain a maximum amount of charge. Rechargeable battery life is measured in terms of cycles. A cycle is the number of times it is ran down to its minimum allowable depth of discharge (DOD) and then charged up to 100%. Remember that lithium cells are very obedient. If you want to discharge it to zero it will allow you to and die. Which is why the computer keeps track of this and shuts down before any damage is done to the battery. My experience is that my laptops where I do a lot of opportunity charging (plugging in whenever there is a power point available) last the longest compared to one that is regularly discharged and recharged. And believe me, I go through laptops like some people go through pairs of shoes.

thanks. i'll check out the stores you mentioned. i posted my problem a few days ago, and now my battery meter shows 0% while plugged in. Cycles according to ISTAT are 364. Time to replace? Or is this just a glitch (I hope)?

  9. Hi!

Someone I met a few months ago mentioned that he was able to get an OEM memory card for his ibook for a much cheaper price than those selling in Apple stores (Powermac, etc.). But I forgot where he got them. He was able to get a Kingston-branded one.

Are these available here? Where can you get them?

In general, where can you get OEM parts that are cheaper locally?

    Thanks.

You mean RAM right? I'm not sure if Ibook and Macbooks are the same, but I was able to get 2GB (1GB each) of RAM in VMall for my MB(thanks for Mr. Boomuse's tip). Halos pare pareho prices ng mga stores dun, around 1100 or 1200 if I remember correctly per 1GB. It might be cheaper now. 667 DDR2 SDRAM.

Question naman for Mr. Boom, are there MB batteries available here in Manila na cheap? And is there a way for me to extend my batteries further than 2 years?? I've been doing the fully discharge then recharge cycle every 3 months (i know dapat every month pero i keep forgetting to do it). Thanks!

  10. actually, to win an NBA championship, they will need at least 10 years, luck in the ping pong balls, fire Chris Wallace their GM and find someone who can at least make trades beneficial to their own team, find a new owner willing to spend on free agents, and lots and lots of prayers from their fans. Also, it would help if KG, Duncan, Amare, Lebron, Kobe, Nash, Roy, Oden, CP3, West, Dirk, Parker, Pierce, Billups, Sheed all blow out their knees during training camp.

To win the championship, this team has to fully exploit their big men : Haddadi (blocks and rebounds), Arthur (solid post player), Walker (veteran champ who can both drive and post and shoot, whew!), Gasol (lotsa potential, once he's found his comfort zone, deadly); Warrick (athletic and is good back-up).

These biggies should have no problem bec the team has good snipers. Mayo, Crittenton, and Jaric can pick up the outside shooting (not necessarily 3pt-zone) that Mike Miller lefts off. Mayo can not only shoot but penetrate, get fouled (has good upper strength and body control). Jaric can also penetrate and has good kick off.

Rudy Gay is there to mix it up, and had shown capability. Lowry and Conley are there to manage on-court (2 unselfish guards).

They STILL need a veteran ball handler. I hope they get one as the games get played - someone like Sam Cassell.

Also, I hope they move to the Eastern Conference Hahahahaha!!!

    Go Grrzzz!

  11. @artvader

hindi naman mahirap mag text sa iphone. the only problem is kung mahaba ang kuko mo hindi ka makaka text, you can't even use a stylus. kailangan finger tip talaga.

    cons of the iphone:

    1. battery - you can't change it (pareho sa mga ipod natin)

    6. wifi connectivity - if you are using a prepaid wifi (katulad ng binebenta sa mga coffee shop) you can't disconnect it. uubusin nya yun bago maputol ang time mo

..sabi nga ng iba pang porma lang daw talaga ang iphone ..hmmm still waiting for the 3G iphone! $200 if you get it with aT&T line $600 pag open line. ano kaya magiging rate talaga globe ..tsk tsk tsk

    interesting points...

especially the no MMS thing. Kahit sa 3G iphone ba wala paring MMS? Maybe you can send pictures through wifi instead... dami na namang free wifi spots around the metro...

Personally I'm not really worried with not being able to change the battery since after 2 years nagpapalit naman talaga most people ng cellphone...

can't wait for the iphone though... finally i can sync all the stuff in my computer to my phone!!

  12. Hay ang tagal matapos nito... Mas mabilis pa nagawa yung NLEX.

di naman... 3 years or more ata bago natapos yung nlex...

pero ang tagal nga naman tong slex... no choice naman talaga tayo eh. at least in a couple of years, 3 lanes na ang slex... tapos in a few years after that congested nanaman ang slex kasi ang daming housing projects sa south...
