  1. With the addition of Baguio, Se and Aban sa line-up ng Ginebra, they ought to put Escalona at Kramer sa injured and/or reserved list o kaya trade na lang nila ang 2 ito baka magamit pa ng ibang team/s..

wala si Aban sa Ginebra.. nasa BK kapalit ni Celino.

Escalona and Cabatu are now free agents.

  2. David Noel is ok.. with Baguio, Intal, Jayjay and Menk slowly picking up his old form.. we don't need an explosive import. Now we have lots of offensive players to choose from unlike before wo only have Jayjay alone.

too early to say kung ganon lang ang laro niya.. maybe jetlag also the guy just arrived last Saturday.. he may have just practiced with the team once.

  3. Come to think of it I think the perfect important for ginebra is James yap best friend Terence Leather. His personality is perfect for Ginebra he is feisty and short tempered but a lot of talent and scoring.

Tubid, Valenzuela and the former GINEBRA player Crisano. that was after the game na eh. sa dugout nagyari.

  4. THREE-WAY TRADE SENDS ALLADO, CANALETA TO PUREFOODS

    Monday, 26 January 2009

REPORTS gathered by SportsNews.ph that a three-team trade involving Purefoods, Ginebra and Burger King (formerly known as Air21) has been completed.

In an interview with player-agent Danny Espiritu in Monday morning‘s Sports Chat, Purefoods acquired Don Allado and the high-flying Nino Canaleta from Burger King. In return the Giants gave up Beau Belga, Chad Alonzo, Chico Lanete and their 2013 draft pick.

Espiritu however could not confirm how Burger King dealt with Ginebra although a reliable source told SportsNews.ph that Burger King shipped Lanete and former Ateneo Blue Eagle stars Dough Kramer and JC Intal for two future draft picks of the Gin Kings.

This will be Allado’s fourth team in the league after debuting for Alaska before being traded to Talk ’N Text. He was later traded to Air21 for Ranidel De Ocampo towards the end of this conference’s elimination round.

  6. Kings show interest on ace Barako

RED BULL’S Cyrus Baguio is reportedly on the trading block and two teams have shown interest to get the ace Barako at the height of the KFC-Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Philippine Cup.

The BusinessMirror learned that the six-foot-one cage acrobat is headed elsewhere because the Barakos have the slimmest of chances to advance to the next round with a disappointing 3-11 win-loss mark.

And Barangay Ginebra is the avid suitor among the two over the 28-year-old Baguio, who signed a lucrative two-year pact with Red Bull before the start of the 34th season.

The BusinessMirror further learned that talks about Baguio donning a Kings uniform escalated after Ginebra’s game against Alaska on Saturday at the Cagayan de Oro City.

Red Bull coach Yeng Guiao, in a previous interview, said he is not aware of such talks as management is in charge with players’ transactions.

“Marami ngang nagtatanong sa akin niyan and I have really no idea about that. Pero nasanay na rin tayong dumarating sa practice na na-trade na pala ’yung player ko,” said Guiao.

Coca-Cola is the other team interested in Baguio, the former Slam-Dunk champion and last year’s Most Improved Player.

The Tigers are actually Red Bull’s stiff competitor for the No. 9 spot in the knockout wild-card stage. Coke is toting a 5-10 mark and must win its last three games to deny Red Bull a chance of catching up with them for a playoff for the ninth spot.

Ginebra is actually full in shooting guards with Ronald Tubid, Junthy Valenzuela and Sunday Salvacion. But coach Jong Uichico reportedly is in dire need of a consistent scorer in the backcourt with Mark Caguioa still out at least for this year.

Jayjay Helterbrand also sometimes plays No. 2 spot with Paul Artadi playing the point. But Helterbrand is slowed down by a groin injury lately.

The Iligan City native Baguio, the team’s second-best scorer with over 13 points a game behind Gabby Espinas, was Red Bull’s 14th overall pick in the 2003 draft.
