  1. im in this forum just to say that i am kicking this habit as soon as i finish this one im puffing hehehehe

kidding aside, im again determined to quit and i WILL quit, period. i've stopped for more than a year but for some unbelievably petty reason i've been at it again. it's funny how cigarette tastes awfully bad when i started smoking again after more than a year... i almost couldn't inhale it.

i've done it befoe and i could do it again.

  5. that's a nice one bro. somehow i feel safe with my money if i invest in this.

back on topic, thanks for answering my past questions.

i'd now like to ask a question that is relevent to the season. though it is best to start construction during the dry season, what are the dangers of starting it in the wet season (if at all there are) for some people who can't wait after the rainy days are gone? how does one avoid these.

lastly, is there truth in the common belief that construction materials are cheaper during this season?

  6. just recently had my annual fee waived for both my american express main and extension cards - thanks to your tips. i was also gladly surprised to find out later that they have reversed the late payment charges when i overlooked my payment due date. oh i forgot to mention that i also got a free mont blanc pen worth approx. 13k when i got this card in the beginning.

  7. i used to have a marine set-up mga 5 years ago. i enjoyed it very much since i am also a diver but i think i lack the knowledge in maintaining it since i always either get the fishes or the corals dead within days.

i would love to go back to this hobby... i miss cartimar already hehehehe anybody has a reference literature on how to successfuly manage one?

  8. thanks boss nasty,

more questions, where do i go to have construction materials tested or verified if they are within standards so that ill know if my contractor is cheating me?

next question might be out of construction issue already but also important to me. where's a good place for modern furnishings? is it wise to engage an interior designer for these things? when should he/she come in during planning or during finishing?

  9. hi nastymerlin27,

i would soon be having my house constructed. though i already have a contractor, i hope you dont mind if i ask the following questions:

since i want to keep the project on a minimal cost but with quality i have separated the contract with the contractor: 1st contract is only for the structural erection (roofing, windows, floor finishes, paint excluded) then 2nd and separate contract for finishing ;labor only since i would be supplying the materials myself. i wanted this since ayoko tipirin ung finishing since medyo pihikan ako sa finishing materials.

    is this a wise move?

what is usually the ratio of the cost to build the structure and the finishing, 50:50, 60:40? I know this depends on the finishing materials to be used but let's just say range is between middle to a little 2 notches below the top class.

i want to install LEDs as my main lighting source throughout the house, are there NOW locally available LED lighting fixtures on warm white tone? where could i buy them? are they dc or ac supplied?

im also planning to use solar to provide at least 50% of my power needs in the house (that is if it would not cost me an arm and a leg). can you recommend a supplier i could contact? do you have any material showing the cost benefits of using solar power? is there an alternative to it?

i want big and tall sliding windows all over the house, do you know of a glass/window supplier with good quality workmanship with competitive price? which is a better material for the framing, pvc or powder coated aluminum?

as for the roofing, is there a huge difference as far as cost, quality and weight of roof tiles between clay and cement? which is more advisable to use? i know that the spanish tiles are really expensive but are there any good quality reasonably priced alternatives? (brand)?

sorry if i have so many questions but hoping you'd have time to answer them.

    thank you.

  10. the 2007 camry beats the accord in styling (i just love the european look of it), performance and efficiency - no more a car for matured guys. but three years back it was honda for me - an executive car that can be self driven.

by the way, i drive an accord excellent car.
