With the increase of larger drive size 1tb for example...

Using tech like fake raid or auto mirror

Run two external drives one for primary and the other being a mirror

One tb can be a lot of data to loss,

then I also use open source encryption tool so even if a drive is taken too bad drive encrypted

I made a simple rig using altec and Bose combo all depends what you want to do...
