  1. Grabe ang gaganda na ng mga new Gundam. Unlike yung mga oldies na molding. mas may detail sila and OK yung colors ng kit. no need for extra effort to paint. Marker lang OK na

  2. a P-39N/Q Air Cobra used by Soviet Union during WWII thru Lend-Lease Program by US Govt.

Ilang hours yung nagagawa mo per isang model bro? bilib ako sa iyo. ang dami mong time. hehe

your posts inspired me to build my overdue 1/144 A-10 thunderbolt.

post ko kpag tapos na, :thumbsupsmiley:

  3. Dre,

It's true that Chuck Yeager was one hell of a P-51D pilot kaya maraming hanga sa kanya at kaya nga maraming gumagamit ng paint scheme ng P-51D nya sa mga scale models. Although wala pa akong nasisimulan na mapinturahan sa mga nabuo kong model kits and its already piling up. Sa P-51D Mustang ko eh ang balak ko dun is the paint color used by the first African American P-51D pilots or better known as the "Tuskegee Airmen". It was only a couple of years ago when they were given full recognition by the American government sa mga contributions nila during World War II dahil sa discrimination. Di lang alam ng marami na mas marami pa silang accomplishment at mga na recieve na honors compared dun sa ibang American White Pilots. They earned the respect of the German Luftwaffe Fighter pilots sa mga skills nila and when these negro pilots went to Europe to do fighter escort duties sa mga Allied bombers ay never once they lost any bomber planes na pinoprotektahan nila.

Their P-51D Mustangs has a distinction para ma identify sila na "colored pilots" which is a red tail fins at flaps.

    Caloyski

Yup! si Chuck Yeager is one of the best pilots of WW2. Ace Pilot and also the first pilot to break the sound barrier. Test Pilot sha ng NASA.

Tuskeegee Airmen is COOL! may napanood akong movie about them. Magandang subject for your plane plus the movie adds onlookers interest kpag nka display na. Known as the RED TAILS yata yun. sila lang may color schemes na ganyan kasi before. hindi pinapayagan ng mga White americans maging Pilot ang Black people. TUrned out sila yung naging best squadron sa WW2. IF you need tips or help with your P-51 ask ka lang.

dude mahirap mag-maintain ng saltwater aquarium. isang brownout lang... dedo isda mo. unless nkatira ka sa batangas or sa malapit sa dagat.

anyway, for starters. you need a powerful filter a bigger than usual tank, a skimmer, most of all a very powerful Metal Halide Lamp, basta malakas na ilaw para kumulay ang isda mo. ska bawal yung rock salt na nabibili sa palengke. most of them kasi may Iodine na. its best to get some sa cavite. yung fresh salt pa lang. mga 2:1~3:1 yung ratio ng water to salt. then get some live rock sa mga beach or resort para mabuhay ang aquarium mo.

it takes a lot of research and most of the time trial and error lang to make it perfect. kahit ang bio research hirap i-maintain ang kanilang tank.

  5. Greetings to all who are into scale modelling!!

I only started and got involved into this scale modelling bout 2 weeks ago...... Nakaka adik pala ang hobby na ito and once I've started to assemble it eh there's no stopping and I always want to finish it right away (jingle lang ang pahinga).......What I'm planning is to collect those famous Battle Tanks in WWII such as Tiger, Sherman, T-34, Panther, Pershing Tanks at iba pang mga Battle Tanks from other wars and also famous Fighter Planes like P-51D (have one already), German Messerschmitt Bf 109, British Spitfire, Japanese A6M Zero Fighter at mga Bomber Planes din.

I'm glad to be one of those who are in this hobby and hoping for any advices para sa mga newbies na gaya ko.

Hi dude! i saw you built a P-51D bubble top!

try painting it! ganda ng choice mo for the plastic kit. tons of details. Here's some tip. try to do search for pics for a subject to your model. i once had a couple of P-51Ds.

one was Chuck Yeager's Glamorous Glenn III. used SNJ buffable silver. looks fine. had to paint the nose yellow and red by masking the cone with masking tape and white glue.

the other was the 1:72 PAF P-51D. the "Shark of Zambales" though its difficult to create decals without a decent printer and decal paper, i suggest painting the markings. the PAF insignia is not difficult to recreate. If you can render the tail insignia by yourself congratulations to you. well, you can always print the insignia found on the net.

here are some images for inspiration.

i will look for the pics of my model before i sold them... BTW. be careful when painting over the canopy. it tends to get blurred. try to look for some NOVUS plastic polish. i doubt meron ganun dito sa pinas. test your luck though, this is the best item for plastic modelling.

  6. Hi guys,

has anyone seen any Disney Pixar CARS plastic kit around?

i dont think there's one available. might as well have it vacuu-formed. But if anyone seen a kit anywhere, please tell me. im into collecting the die-cast characters. i nice addition will be a 1:18 scale model.

Buy badger airbrushes! i bought the aztec airbrush with changeable nozzles.. much to my dismay the badger is better. so i had to upgrade.

Its nice to see the hobby is attacting new enthusiasts. I hope i can see pics of recent projects here.

  7. Kumusta na Doc Pepper?

its been a while since nabisita ako dito. busy kasi sa new hobby of collecting CARS.

i see madaming interested sa hobby natin.

tip to you guys, start cheap. start slow buy quality tools and you'll know why a lot of us got absorbed in this hobby.

cheap kits with lots of detail. Shanghai Dragon 1/144 scale airplanes.

  8. I have two notebook.

Well you dont call the other a notebook generally.

I have a SONY VAIO VGN-AR370 a notebook with a blue-eay player. also comes with a TV tuner cable TV input and remote control. it runs on Vista Ultimate and i only use it on my Desk as a Past time if i want to watch What's on the TV.

my other notebook is the VGNTX29 NOW this is the notebook to use! super portable with a generous battery life.

    i love this notebook.

  9. MONTEVISTA is ok, maganda ang facilities nila pero medyo mahal nga lang but if you want to avail a good discount meron akong binayaran na certain membership then member ka na at may mga discounts ka na ma-avail plus they gave me something, some sort of a gift yata pag nagpa member ka.

Honestly lang ha,,, di ko gusto yung Monte Vista. unang Una. pagpasok ko sa loob parang Fish Pond yung pools.

may bakal na gate and ang liit.

Preffered ko yung Doña Jovita resort. maganda yung facilities. Real hot pool.

  10. See more Araphaima Gigas sa Avilon Zoo!

ang lalaki ng isda na yan. And a friend told me that her grandfather donated the fishes to meralco due to its gigantic size.

    Kamag-anak ni Eulogio Rodrigez. ayun...

Araphaimas are very easy to raise. mejo malakas kumain kasi malaki.

but they are very beautiful to watch! parang DUgong

  11. dude i have some portal cards...do you need a set for each card?

Dude do you have a set of sheep tokens?

im a KEV walker collector and the tokens goes well with the ovinomancer.

Kev Walker's art goes to most POWER cards.

  12. i have always wanted to go into scale modelling, any tips on what i should purchase as a start up kit? where can i get these supplies? i have seen a shop in megamall called lil's i asked the people there what i need as a start up kit but they were just too busy.

and lastly, what scale model should i buy that is easy for newbies?

Dude, if you're looking for people who are not too busy. Go to Special Toys Center at AliMall Cubao.

Super accomodating sila. just ask and they will answer. They wont disturb you if you're just browsing around and if you're interested just shoot them a question and wont be ignored. Also Lil's Park Square super accomodating din din. I doubt sa megamall. mejo pre-occupied sila eh. except dun sa builder ng RC helicopters.

Anyway, if you're looking for beginer friendly kits. Try building cars first them move towards building tanks and airplanes. :thumbsupsmiley:

  13. It depends on the subject and scale you want to model. For 1/48 scale aircraft or 1/35 scale armored fighting vehicles, you can start with Academy kits since they are relatively cheap. Also aircraft and AFV's in 1/72 scale are cheaper than their bigger counterparts. Lil's in Megamall or Parksquare is a good source for buying kits and tools. You can ask specific questions here and we will try to help you out.

For those of you not bored by my posts, I was finally able to find the lost sprocket of my 1/35 T-25 Russian tankette as it inexplicably turned up in the carpet of my car. The last time I saw it two months ago, it was flying halfway across my bedroom. I now have resumed painting the model and put a coat of Wipe and Shine applied with a brush. Two observations here:

    1) Wipe and Shine is much thinner than Future, and probably works better airbrushed. To achieve a gloss coat, you have to apply two or three coats to the model.

    2) A coat of Wipe and Shine will darken the paint. In my case I used lightened Tamiya acrylics, as I was trying to achieve a scale color effect but the Wipe and Shine coat darkened it even deeper than the original unmixed base paint.

hehe, Carpet. I've lost a lot of small parts because of carpet. :( i end up replacing them with scratchbuilt parts.

Anyway, i used Wipe-n-Shine to "re-gloss" the lens of my old plastic Oakley and it looks FINE.

In any case of lost eye sight due to chemicals. i will inform you guys. *hehe*

Just to keep with the topic. will Dragon produce more 1/144 scale planes? i think i have them all.

parang Pokemon. Gotta catch em all.

Accurate, beautiful decals and fine moldings for a small scale.

  14. I'm sorry for posting a rather late reply regarding this topic, but I just wanted to share something lang. I have used both 'Future' and the local 'Wipe and Shine', and except for the initial milkiness of WnS, parang Future na nga - even smeels great too. What I would like to share though is that, even if both leave a gloss coat, should you want to make the finish matte, you can do so by adding Tamiya's Flat Base. You can read about this sa other websites on Future and modelling. I experimented at the start na trial and error and proportions ng Future/WnS with the Flat Base so be careful sa too much ng flat base or your kit will end up as if it had a winter camo pattern (powdery white overcoat). Luckilly, this may be remedied by overcoating with a better proportioned mix. FYI

Ayuuunn!! white and shine pala sha locally!!

hmm! i'll pay a visit to the nearest Ace Hardware soon! :thumbsupsmiley:

    thanks dude!

  15. I built a Titanic diorama about 3 years ago. with Fiber Optic lights as window effects.

got the idea from the magazine. hehe pangit nung Titanic model. since the absence of sheet styrene, i used cellphone prepaid cards.

sad to say, na-arbor na sha. a "friend" borrowed it from me and didnt show up after.. tsk tsk...
