  2. Hi. Up for sale is an original Swiss Army watch. Swiss Made. Still in very good condition. Blue face, blue bezel, yellow seconds hand. Stainless steel bracelet. Comes with outer and inner box, pillow and cloth. Has very light scratches on the bracelet due to desk contact. This is pre-Victorinox Swiss Army. Case size is approximately 39mm without the crown. Swiss quartz movement. Water-resistant up to 100m. First owner here. Can be worn dressed up/down. No wrist time anymore.

Original extra links are kept, and I will throw in a rubber strap which I hardly used. Selling for only P4,700.

  4. If you want to start in this hobby, have the mental discipline to study timepieces not just based on price. History, movement, reputation among so-called WIS, etc. should also be considered.

There are great mechanical pieces priced P20k and up and will not break the bank. Go up the horological ladder slowly.

If you need further info on watches, check out philippinewatchclub.org. (sorry, not meant to hijack the thread, but to educate enthusiasts)

Among people who know, you'll get more respect wearing a Seiko than a replica.

    thanks

  5. Do you guys know if there's a place that sells legit/original vintage rolex from the 50s here in the philippines....just wanted to see if it will be cheaper

Manila Watch Exchange..I believe they have stores in Sofitel, Rob Galleria and Glorietta (not sure if this branch still exists)

In Greenhills, there are watch stores (not the fake ones, of course) that sell authentic bnew and vintage watches..I'm not sure if they relocated because of the renovation.

  6. Hi. I've passed by the doorway of some mall gyms and noticed that the aircon can get extremely cold.

Q: Would working-out be hampered by such a cold environment? Or is the downside just the longer warm-up time?

Are there pros/cons to working out in such a cold environment, say these mall gyms?

Better to work out at room temp, say a home/condo gym?

    thanks much

  7. ako i'm shifting at 2k RPM or 1.5RPM, so far i'm getting 13.988 Km / L combined highway and city driving on my 1.3 Vios, in this way mas makakatipid daw sa gas. thermostat 4-5 clicks. fan naman 1,2,3, or 4 depende sa init. i'm also maintaining my tire pressure, weekly ang visit sa gas stations para magpa hangin ng gulong.

isn't 1.5k or 2k rpm too low? di ba nagsha-shake engine mo upon shifting? might be bad for both transmission and engine.

  8. A long-running TV show suggests maintaining speed at around 80-90 kph, since this is supposed to be the most "fuel-efficient" speed. However, this can only be practical on long stretches of the highway.

When the A/C cools the cabin enough, I just switch the A/C button off, and just leave the fan on. Or, going home at night, I turn the A/C off and leave a 2-inch gap on my window. Pauwi na rin naman e.

By the way, at what rpm do you shift gears?

    thanks :)

  9. Don't believe that crap on TV. it doesn't work. just follow your car's manual. change oil religiously and use the recommended viscosity. on most cars its 10w30.

Yeah, I guess so. Some mall hardware stores even sell them at marked-down prices. Wala sigurong pumapatol.

  10. Hi, I don't know if there's a thread already for this, but has anyone tried using "X-1R" or "Motor Up" as an engine treatment for a vehicle 5 years old and up? I have an older model CRV which I've been using sparingly in favor of an Altis.

Can the above engine treatments make the engine "efficient," thus leading to better fuel economy? They even quote NASA as a user of these products.

    thanks :)

  11. The only difference is that E10 has 10% Ethanol thus the name E10.

It is design to be more environment friendly.

It has a Research Octane Number (RON) of 93 same with Regular Unleaded but has less Energy Content.

Based on my experience, mas malakas ang hatak ng Regular Unleaded as compared to E10 pero very minimal lang.

I usually fill up E10 because it is cheaper by P2 per liter and I don't really need the extra kick of Super Unleaded in a traffic congested Manila.

hi, is it alright to load up with E-10 even when my tank still has around 1/4 of unleaded fuel?

as per your experience, malaki ba difference sa hatak or really negligible under the usual metro traffic?

    thanks :)
