hehe masaya talaga ang fishing...nakaka-taas ng pasensya..pero mas masaya pag ksama ang mga kaibigan tapos nagkwekwetuhan habang naghihintay na may mahuli..

mas na-appreciate ko ang mga simple na bagay sa buhay dahil sa fishing (kawayang lang ksi ang gamit ko na fishing pole pero nakakahuli rin hehe)

Summer na! Fishing time na. To scratch the itch, wet your line at the ponds in Valenzuela, or check out Apalit or Lakeshore Pampanga. Or better yet, get on a banca and fish. Pundakit Zambales has been kind to me. Have never gone home without a catch.

I agree, tilapia and bangus fishing is just the tip of the iceberg at masasawa ka din at some point. Try saltwater. May mamali fishing din sa Manila Bay. Natry ko na din magnight fishing on a rented banca. Poppers and walk the dog lures ang gamit.

Im also interested in fishes but I usually catch them. What breeds would be good game fishes? Large mouth bass and peacock bass are not common here.

kasi i always fish doon sa kahilera ng mga cottages at maglalakd hanggang dulo dont know kung same spot ba tinutukoy ko or the otehr side of it.

same spot yun. you cast in front of the cottages, not at the back where the boats pass. even right infront of the 1st -3rd cottage, may nakahuli din dun. You just have to fancast and look for the fish.

i hope ikaw yung makahuli ng biggest catch, iam planning to vist yung spot ninyo sa apahap can you give me directions?

Unfortunately, since i am helping in organizing this event, i am not allowed to join. The hotspot for apahap is on the bungad pond..on the right side near the small prinsa (water outlet) and on the left past the cottages where theres an opening leading to the bigger pond...

• Registration is limited to 150 Participants. Registration should be done thru the authorized registration centers prior to the tournament

• Walk in registrants will only be allowed to join during the tournament date if there are slots available. First come, first served.

• Fish can only be taken by rod and reel, hook and line and from the bank.

• Other methods such as snagging (salvage), electrofishing (kuryente), bowfishing (pana or airgun), netting (lambat) and other methods are strictly not allowed.

• Participants need to pay for their catch by the kilo

• Registration Fee is P300 per person

From NLEX, Exit at Valenzuela Exit and turn left and travel down Maysan Rd.

Just go straight until you reach McArthur Hiway

Turn right and drive towards Malanday until you see the Meralco Office on your right.

Turn left at the inverted Y intersection

Drive about 1.5 km and turn right at the very first crossroad. Thats Coloong 1.

Go straight ahead about 1.5 km until you reach a public school on your right. About 100 meters ahead, turn right to Kapitans pond.

I usually use 6-10 lbs mainline in coloong but with 12-15lb leaders when targetting bangus. You can go lighter on the tilapia because they don't really fight much. There are no lawe for sale at coloong pero you can buy earthworms for 20/cup. Just be there early morning dahil minsan nauubos din.

The PSE did take a nose dive last friday.. Too bad i got in too early, didnt expect it to drop drop drop,,,,,, o boy.

UITFS just dived last friday, even lower than the rates 2 months ago? will it recover soon, slide more or what?
