  1. Use your time deposit as downpayment.  If mag-loan ka just for the downpayment, you will lose more.  Mas malaki ang interest sa mga loans as compared to bank deposits.  Magkano lang ba interest na earned mo for the time deposit?

he's correct. time deposits earn you only up to 8% p.a. less tax pa on interest, long-term td na yon. ang borrowing rate ngayon 10.25% to 14% depende sa financial institution. saka bro, yung loan mo for the 80% ang collateral non yung property. what will be your collateral for your other loan? personal loan ba to? pag binigyan ka ng personal loan na ganyan kalaki pm mo ko, maglo-loan din ako. :thumbsupsmiley:

  2. Depending on what you mean by overseas qualification.  If what you mean is whether an overseas qualification can help in looking for a job as accountant in the Philippines, then the answer is yes although your options may get limited by your overseas qualification (i.e. general business qualification means you are geared towards consulting, bookkeeping would possibly limit you to BPO, etc.).  or it might enhance it greatly (Masters abroad would jack up your value).

If what you mean is whether being an accountant (or CPA) would enhance your chances of landing a job abroad, then the answer is yes.  The US is currently looking for CPA's to migrate abroad.  Natakot yata ang mga tao doon because of the Enron Case so there is an apparent lack of Accountants there.

in addition to the above post, the demand for accountants especially in the US increased dramatically since the passage of the sarbanes-oxley act (SOx). this law has placed stringent requirements to us sec-registered companies, specifically for corporate responsibility for financial reports (sec. 302) and management assessment of internal control (sec. 404). from the corporate view, this translates to a lot of work such as business process reviews, assessments of internal control, etc., to assist the ceo and cfo in complying with the requirements of the act. initially, these companies outsource the function, but hiring "consultants" to assist in the requirement has proven to be costly especially for SMEs. because of the cost, more and more companies started establishing their own "internal controls department" or appointing a compliance officer to do the evaluations and assessments necessary in assisting the ceo and cfo. these new departments or positions create a market for accountants and auditors. their local pool of accountants and auditors are not enough to satisfy their needs, which is why they hire from the outside. other countries also passed similar local laws that resulted to the demand for accountants and auditors.

kaya lang negative ang effect dito sa tin kasi foreign companies really prefer filipino accountants and auditors. nauubos ang mga tao dito kasi lahat gusto mag-abroad. even kami apektado sa external audit because in the middle of the engagement biglang mawawala ang senior kasi may secondment pala for SOx-related work in another country. may papalit sila pero panibagong familiarization at paliwanagan na naman mangyayari, sayang oras.

    ryanarjay,

sayang, accounting pala preference mo. i'm looking for an internal auditor ngayon e. pero if you have audit experience, i may consider you. pm me if you're still interested. thanks.

  3. 3 ata topnotcher na pinoy...

yung #1 saka yung isa, galing sa firm namin...

yung isa galing sa kabilang firm...

    Congratz din sa iyo...

I know they informed her of her ranking.

They invited her to grace the awarding ceremonies to be held in Texas!... :goatee:

yup. that's the "price" for the william smith gold award (given to the topnotcher), an invitation to the iia international conference where she will be recognized.

brod, nasa accounting firm ka ba? ey, kpmg o pwc? taga-pwc ako dati, some years ago.

    So young...

    She's only in her twenties...

    Astig!

wow! congrats to her. i also passed the november 2005 cia exam same batch as her. baka pwede patanong, kung kanino nya nakuha yung scores nya? puro passed lang kasi yung nakalagay sa letter ko for parts 1 to 3. binibigay lang ba yung results sa mga nagta-top? info would be appreciated. pa-pm na lang. thanks. :)

    whats the rush?

:boo:

sori mods, ot. last reply ko na din to sa thread na to.

  6. I see we have the same situation here as we have had in other threads.

Just to remind y'all that posting does not have to be an argument all the time. There are ways to post w/o sounding as if you are picking a fight with everyone else on the thread.

YOU know who you are. <_<

OT. now, i understand what you're saying. just right now, in the marketplace, i came across a thread of someone selling shoes. ganon din mga replies, may info na sa thread tinatanong pa uli, blah blah blah. di ko alam kung may ibang thread pa na ganyan din. tsk tsk tsk. mahirap makipag-usap sa nakatira sa mental. this guy needs to get some air. sayang na nga oras ko sinasayang pa lalo.

i think a reasonable person can read through this thread and extract useful information based on facts and help them in their judgment.

    -------------

    AMA is ISO certified? That's a surprise. I don't know kasi e, which certification 9001, 14001, 18001?

natawa ako dito ah. go go go sarao hataw! pinakamarami sa kalsada. :boo:

edc research mo yang ISO (International Organization for Standardization) para maintindihan mo yung sinasabi ni acidboy.

whatever dude. basahin mo na lang yung history ng mga posts mo dito at yung chronological order. hirap kasi sayo nilalahat mo e. tapos mapapaso ka. respect other people's posts so you'll get respect as well. wag yung pag ayaw mo ng pinost parang gusto palabasin sinungaling yung nag-post.

  9. Wala bang speed-limiter yan?  Yung ibang new models kasi meron. Sinubukan ko dati Nissan Grandeur 1.6 sa star toll, nagka-cut off at about 173kph.

meron rev limiter lahat ng nakalista except yung galant kasi karburador yon walang ecu. others efi na. at those speeds di pa lumalagpas sa "redline" yung tachometer. pag palo mo kasi ng mga 180 mabagal na talaga tumaas yung speed pero tataas pa din yon as long as wala ka pa sa fuel cut-off. yung 173 mo kaya pa tumaas yon kasi torquey din makina ng sentra unless pumupugak na yung engine which means nagka-cut-off na yung ecu. kelangan lang talaga wag maubusan ng kalsada.

masama gawin sa engine to palagi. minsan minsan lang at pag talagang maluwag lang sa highway. be safe! :)

brod, e eto ang pinost mo e. una nilahat mo, ibang mazda mazda bulok na sabi mo except miata. tapos sabi mo pag mazda ang name ng car kakaduda. kaya tinanong kita, tapos sasabihin mo yung rx-7 "in a class of its own," e ano ba brand non??? di ba MAZDA?!?!?

sarili mong posts kinokontra mo kaya di kapanipaniwala mga pinagsasabi mo. check mo pa mga ibang posts mo dito.

kung maganda experience namin sa mazda, e ano naman, why don't you just be happy for us? i know a lot of people with good experiences sa brand na to. check out protegetech's web site for some.

ang bottomline kasi e, lahat ng kotse may advantages at disadvantages. its up to the individual to choose what will suit him/her best. ang objective ng thread starter dito is to solicit information from those who have "experienced" driving a mazda3 for him/her to verify and help in deciding what to buy. kaya kami na naka-experience nagbibigay ng facts based from our experiences. but we are not trying to convince anyone na wag ka mag-mazda o wag ka mag-toyota, etc.

  11. brod, i think you have a very big problem of comprehending things. posters here are stating their opinions based on hands-on experience with a mazda with the objective of sharing some information and experience about the car. some are quite subjective, but appropriate for one's taste and they are not generalizing. you are entitled to your own opinion, of course, but i don't know why you argue so much about things that you obviously do not understand that can mislead people. just check all your posts. i'm a long time mazda owner and i have not had any problems with the car kaya nga kumuha uli ako ng mazda last year e.

so aside from the 323, 626, 929, astina bulok din pala ang rx-7 and rx-8 (mga rotary-powered engines), mx-6, mazda2, mazda5, mazda6, tribute, demio, mpv, lantis??? kasi sabi mo miata lang ang ok e. sama na rin ba dito yung mga kapatid nyan sa ford, volvo, jaguar, land rover, etc???

OT: makes me wonder lang kasi, ano ba ride mo bat hate na hate mo ang mazda? share ka naman ng SPECIFIC, DIRECT and PERSONAL EXPERIENCE mo handling a mazda, di pwede yung sabi lang ng friend mo ha.

  12. 190 kph - 1996 mazda familia, stage 1 set-up (year 2001 skyway)

    185 kph - 1997 honda accord vti, all-stock (year 2002 nlex)

    185 kph - 2005 mazda3, all-stock (year 2005 slex)

    180 kph - 1999 civic vti, all-stock (year 2001 skyway)

160 kph - 1989 mitsu galant ss - my first car, all stock (slex)

in all instances kaya pa ng engine kaya lang di ko pa rin ma-hit yung 200 kph na goal ko. yung accord nabenta ko na to get the m3. yung civic is a car for the family, but not mine. yung familia although prepped pa rin hesitant na ko to try to push that hard kasi matanda na mas malaki chance na maaksidente ako. so natitirang pag-asa na lang e yung m3. bago pa naman so intact pa. pag may opportunity, ako lang mag-isa at mahaba pa kalsada sa highway sana ma-hit ko na. :D

  13. edc, i don't know how the miata passed "your standards" when engine reliability, as you say, is your main consideration? THE 1.6L MIATA'S ENGINE IS A "B6" and THE FAMILIA'S ENGINE IS ALSO A "B6." the miata is just much quicker obviously because of the lightweight body and slight difference in tuning, but the engine, internals, blocks are basically the same. maybe you're the one who's into looks? or you just have no true idea of what you're talking about because you're preaching about something you do not understand or truly experienced?

there's no need to wait because the mazda brand is already tested in different parts of the world. it's just sad that the brand was mishandled in the 90s. when it comes to cars, there is this stereotyping thing in the phils even though there are a lot of good cars in the market. nissan, for one, also has a good line-up of quality vehicles.

  14. i agree with acidboy. mazda belongs to the ford group, so does VOLVO. the mazda3, ford focus and s40 shares the same platform and even some aspects of the design and possibly some parts and accessories. mazda retired the 323 series by introducing the mazda3 in 2004. the ford lynx is actually a rebadged mazda 323 (familia in japan and in here, protege in the US). i have a 1996 mazda familia and i still have it up to now. naka-stage 1 set-up lang but can still kick ass on the road. i've had no problems with it, just the regular maintenance.

i haven't heard of any recalls on mazda engines (B series engines used in 323s), so i'm surprised that engine pala problem nito. personal experience ko wala ko problema sa engine. hatak, hataw, kaskas, long drives, atbp. na ginawa ko sa kotse, my engine is still smooth. the mazda3 although still young, i would say (again based on my personal experience with the car), is right up there with the best.

mahirap mag-comment sa reliability ng engine kasi ang wear and tear nito depende na lang sa gumagamit, driving conditions and the way it is maintained. sa torque and horsepower pwede i-compare kasi it can be measured through the dyno.

my previous car na kasabay ng familia was a 97 accord vti. hanep din tong car na to, sarap i-drive and very comfortable lakas pa ng makina in stock form, but i sold it to get the mazda3. twice ako nag-overheat hanggang sa pinapalitan ko na ng radiator. other than that wala ko naging problem don and i enjoyed that car.

i wouldn't say na "konti" na lang ang mazda sa kalsada. may car club for mazda owners here and abroad. check the web. di lang kasing dami ng corolla at civic kasi di rin naman talaga ganon kadami ang production dito sa pinas to begin with. yung familia bihira ang may taxi pero the earlier 323 sedan marami-rami pa rin tumatakbo kahit dito sa makati.

dito kasi sa atin sa pinas, naging stereotype na pag kotse toyota lang talaga. if i remember correctly nuong 1989-90 bago lang din ang honda dito. laging sinasabi di daw talaga reliable kasi motor lang daw ginagawa ng honda, di pa daw tested kasi di pa nagagawang taxi, etc. but honda has proven the critics wrong. bilis nila mag-creep up sa car market. there was a time that the civic bested the corolla for the best compact sedan in the late 90s.

the point is you have to really try something and have hands on experience before making comments. we should not rely on hearsay then generalize (sabi nila ganito, sabi ng friend ko, wala yan sa lolo ko). there's no perfect car. kaya nga nagbibigay ng warranties ang mga car companies e. all has their advantages and disadvantages. it's up to the user to choose which car suits him/her the best or which disadvantage(s) he/she can live with.

based on my driving experiences, kung gusto mo talaga ng mabilis na sedan, get the civic (fastest in the 1.6L and 2.0L and very responsive sa modifications). If you're after better fuel economy, get a 1.3 vios or jazz. if those are not your top priorities and looking for more balance then i would suggest you try the mazda3, decent power, fuel economy, suspension, amenities, reliability and the looks at a competitive price.

i'm not connected to mazda ha. just my 2 cents.

  15. dude you can't go wrong with the mazda 3. i should know, i got one! hehehe. seriously, imo best value for money yung 1.6l. Each car has its own advantages and down side depending on each owner's taste and your objective in getting the car. for me the downside is that the backseat is less romy than my mazda familia and it does not come in manual transmission because they offer the a/t with activematic.

go to your nearest mazda dealer, so you can have a better feel and then compare it with other cars. if it's to your liking then pa-reserve ka na! mahaba pa rin pila sa 1.6l model nila.

Don't let the 105ps rating fool you. the engine has a enough torque for a 1.6l and a great gear ratio. you get the horsepower from the engine torque. in short, even in a heavier body (compared to the altis, civic, lancer, sentra and optra) it can keep up with the competition and even surpass them in long highways kasi yung 1.6l di umaayaw yung makina basta tapakan mo lang ng tapakan accelerator. there are those who claimed to have taken their 1.6l up to 205 kph. my personal experience so far is only up to 180 kph (NLEX-slowed down coz may nakita akong highway patrol from afar). Sa arangkada medyo mabagal kasi matic e. iba talaga ang manual kung arangkadahan. that's why the m3 is not for drag race or short sprints. for short sprints palaban pa din naman, just keep your engine working at higher rev ranges. kung may manual na m3 dito ibang usapan yon.

    good luck! :D
