This should work with Ubuntu. If you're using another distro please post more information.
@Ryuji_tanaka: Try doing this in the terminal:
sudo apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree
Hope this helps

There are lots of different ways of accomplishing this, can't say what's the best ... same with a lot of other things in Linux, it's just a matter of personal preference.
You might wanna check out Clonezilla (http://clonezilla.org/)
Personally, I've used dd before.

@johnlove
I had Ubuntu 8.04 installation before and had no problem switching displays. From my experience Ubuntu should be able to detect and adjust the display settings but I've seen in forums that there are people who have display problems in Ubuntu. Maybe you can change to a safe resolution (ex.: 800x600) first before changing to the CRT.

I assume that's Ubuntu.
No there shouldn't be a problem.
Hi, I am using a 19 inch LCD monitor on linux 8.04Will there be any problems if I change my monitor to a 17 inch CRT?
Thanks.

This site has quite a lot of info on the topic: http://www.pendrivelinux.com/
I'm not sure if you have used Linux before and you have any preferred distro so I can't give you more specific info. The information and the choices from the site can be quite overwhelming so feel free to post your questions here.

sarap gumamit ng linux. lalo na yung gaim. tapos ibat ibang browser. sayang hindi madetect ang wireless ng laptop ko. pero 90% ok sakin to. any software na pwedeng magrun sa linux na parang autocad???
You might wanna try Medusa (http://www.cad-schroer.com/index.php?ziel=Products-MEDUSA-M4Personal&land=com&scr=1.1). I don't really use this kind of software so I can't say if it's good but it would be good to hear feedback from someone who can evaluate its functionalities.

hmmm...cron jobs might be a good solution.
btw, am using ubuntu feisty fawn.
Yeah, once you have the script that does the backup just create a cron job for it and your good to go.
Found a tutorial on how to setup the backups here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=240326
I haven't tested it as I don't have an Ubuntu installation yet. Still planning to test Gutsy one of these days.

i was looking for an automated solution where the backup is done regularly.
You just need two tools, RSYNC and CRON.
Here are two articles you can reference to. Both are quite old but they still apply

You can get rsync from here: http://samba.anu.edu.au/rsync/
