  2. you got the warning because you had windows update run live. if you are aware that you are using a bootleg copy of windows, my advise is never run auto update or never let those updates connect to internet. there are updates that you can run offline without having windows run the genuine validation tool.

    hi,

i don't think they'd check on your OS. here's the catch though. it didn't take 48 hours for me to be online before bill gates' henchmen caught up with me. here's the details... as soon as i landed, i went online. there wasn't any trouble. on my next boot up, my OS already had that "you are not using genuing microsft windows on your system" ID (well, something like that). so i guess they have better trackers there or whatever (i'm not a techie, so please pardon me for my lack of jargonese).

the solution? good thing my grandma was about to buy a desktop. she was eyeing this bottom-level dell at circuit city. it cost something like 200usd, but already came with a licensed windows home xp. i ptiched in the money i was to use for a license and grandma bought the desktop. i used her license during my stay. (of course i had to re-install windows using my grandma's key code; in effect, there were two pcs at home using one license) after i had done that, the rest of my stay was uneventful, at least with the microsoft police.

    hope this helps.

  3. Mga bros. Sana may makatulong. I'm going to the USA this april. and i'm bringing my HP Centrino Laptop. masisita ba ako ng mga kanuto kung pirated Windows OS

ang nakakabit dito? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

No worries. wala naman magi-inspect ng content ng laptop mo eh and they dont care about it as long as hindi M$ agents ang sisilip.

advice ko lang pag nag travel ka by plane city to city within the US eh pag checkin mo kelangan voluntary mo ilabas yang laptop mo from its case or bag pag pinadaan sa xray otherwise papadaanin yan sa chemical test at patatayuin ka sa tabi na parang hinuhuli... hehehe

pero kung gusto mo makasiguro, install ka ng 2nd OS nya na linux para kahit pabuksan (which i doubt) eh hindi M$ 0$ ang makikita nila.

  4. acer? hehehehehehehehehe

well, i just dont know, but in the past years... ive dealt a lot with em and they all end up in trash...

Sony is definitely a no-no for me :thumbsdownsmiley: ; there's no IMB brand (maybe an IBM? :D ); I'm an ASUS-user and I have no qualms about it. :hypocritesmiley: Acer?... Hmmm, seems ok (maybe even better than Sony. :P )
  5. Here's a little challenge to our computer guru's...

Has anyone ever used a tool that check and restores windows protected dll's? To cut it short, windows was shutdown before it finished restoring the dll's. After starting windows, everything seems to be fine except that some tab fonts have become arabic and some windows are mirrored from right to left.

Regional and Language Options normally solves the language problem but doesnt work since the language was still in English.

Maybe anyone would have a good guess how to revert this thing back...

    salamat

  7. this is true only if your computer is not assigned a static IP but if your company dhcp server assigned a specific IP address to your computer i dont think you will be able to change it for it will reject whatever ip address that you put there. worst thing will conflict whatever ip address that might put there with another computer on your network and will cause that computer to crash whatever transaction it is doing on your system. and btw, if your IT is smart, they would always notice that you changed your assigned ip address.

I think IP ADDRESS po yung tinatanong nyo.

    Has to be manually edited

  8. so far i've seen 3 versions of WGA crack. i just dont know if it works well with all windows products...

It's not entirely impossible...just tougher to do...you can download a crack for WGA so that you can update manually through Windows Update. If you wish to install Windows Defender, download the installer, disconnect yourself from the internet, run the installer (hopefully you have a valid SP2 serial - either keygened or obtained from internet) so that it can't verify your serial over the net.  :headsetsmiley:

    cheers!

Mejo different item pero same problem. Since ndi nga madetect yung HD, i tried to replace the HD with a new one pero ndi ma-detect kasi ndi formatted. tried the FDISK command ng Win98 boot-up disk pero ndi makita yun bago HD. Tried to format it also sa ibang PC pero ayaw din ma-detect.

umakyat ka sa pinakamataas na building dyan sa inyo... then akyat ka rooftop... plugin the power... then drop it off from the building...

malamang after that magkakaron ka na ng bagong computer... hehehehe *kidding* :boo: :D :P

checked already and lahat nmn ok. tried to boot from the installer CD ng WIN2000 and can access the HD nmn pero pg start-up n ng normal, ayaw na tumuloy sa windows.  :(  :grr:

  11. This is a common problem for CRT monitors after a long period of using it or have reached a certain burn time, the weldt connections on the pcb behind the tube gets loose due to heat generated from the tube when its on for a long time. sometimes, you lose the color red, yellow or blue, but if you use another monitor, the colors are fine.

if you can open the rear part of your monitor, you should find a pcb just behind the end of the tube. There are connections there that would need to soldered so you'll get the color of your monitor back.

  12. bat dimo subukan mag system reset or bios reset. babalik sa original settings ang bios mo. you can do this by either shorting the bios reset in the board otherwise remove the battery and bios chip from the board and wait 24hrs or enough time to drain the power in the chip.

cannot access the boot sequence option eh. if i try to access, plaging bumabalik s main menu the BIOS setup. tried to disconnect n din the FD and CD cables  and then start up pero ganun p din.

  13. actually, crackers and whackers made those hackers look bad. a hacker does not necessarily be a bad person or do bad things. real hackers are ethical, wannabe hackers, mostly script kiddies love to expose themselves coz theis is what they can do, trying to associate themselves with the elite. thats why hackers are categorized from white, gray and black.

    just my 2cents

    this is definitely true.

why a hacker exposed their self if they are doing bad things?

hehehe been with a lot of guys who knows doing like this and honestly they stop kasi wala din sila napala eh :D

hackers telling people that they are a hacker are just a posters feeling marunong :D

  15. if you know how to remove the hard drive, try removing it and install it back. make sure to connect firmly into the cable. turn it back on. if you still get the same hardware error message, change your hard drive.

you may also attach your present hard drive into a portable USB drive enclosure and try to connect into an available computer. you will know from this if the drive needs to be replaced if the usb cannot detect the hard drive in it.

yep it might be a harddrive failure..

  16. how can i put sound to a powerpoint presentation na dapat continuous .. ung kahit sa next slide di macut ung sound but mag continue sya...

    thanks in advance

    here's how...

    1. From INSERT menu, select Movies and Sound and select your choice (example you want your music play from your CD)

    2. Browse the audio and select OK.

    3. A speaker icon should appear in your presentation.

    4. Right click on the speaker icon and select Edit Sound Options.

    5. click on the Looped Until Stoped checkbox. then press OK button

you may also want to hide the icon when playing the presentation. you may do this by clicking on the checkbox "Hide sound icon"

    cheers!

unfortunately, kung susubukan mo eh hindi na effective. pag meron nang document na lumabas about hacking ng ganito o ganyan ey malimit nagawan na ng paraan para di na ulit uubra. unless, fresh from the one who did it or happened yesterday or today.
