staying........ been to 1st world countries, its only a perception that there are more opportunities and that life is alot easier. the same opportunities exist here, problem with many people.... 'they want everything right now'.... alang patience, reality is - like all investments, you need time before you cash in.

I've had my share of successes and failures:
(1) Never mistake activity for accomplishment, just because you're doing something doesn't mean you're accomplishing something - accomplishments get rewarded.
(2) Take care of your People (function of character)
(3) Continue building competence
(3) Watch your peers, Do what they do plus more
If all fails, there's always LUCK - right boss, right time, right place.....
Just another observation, if you do get promoted, there are only 2 things that can happen....(1) if you deserve it, you excel and grow further and (2) if you don't deserve it, you'll get sick and die. After all, you can only get promoted up to your level of incompetence.

I've watched the movie, Message in a bottle, years ago. Now i'm reading the novel, its my first time to read a 'romance' novel and have to say Nicholas Sparks wrote this one excellently - very emotional, touched ako moreso on the novel than the movie.

Sir SSS Expert,
Question - Mandatory retirement age (as per labor code) 60 kaya kung sakali I have to wait for that long to start getting SSS pension. Another option is early retirement due to disability. What is meant by disability? How does one claim disability benefits? What if self-induced (i.e. smoking leading to lung cancer, nagpa-ipit sa makina; kaya putol)?
Looking forward to your reply...

nothing beats reading a good book (let alone a movie). the devil is in the details and authors cannot convey it better other than a narrative/descriptive story. movies are actor focused, that's what you see and that's what you remember. books allows for your creativity and imagination, the possibilities/potentials/re-applications are endless - it becomes useful, longterm.

Thanks Gabriel,
Income is Income and there's just no escaping the tax man. I just hope they use it properly, it takes hard work (blood, sweat, tears) to earn that income tax for them.
Am just thinking of going to the basics, if I'm sick or in need of a vacation, i'll use it. If not, its extra cash for me and big brother.

I finished reading 48 Laws of Power by Greene/Elffers last week. There's a lot of political truth's in there so don't believe everything you read. If you're on the receiving end, you'll just get paranoid thinking someone's out there trying put one over you. On the otherhand, It's good to know, just in case. People can't be all that bad so I'm currently reading Maxwell's 21 Irrefutable Laws Of Leadership.

Question - Witholding Tax On Leaves Encashments, why? Technically, you've paid the taxes during the months you earned your SL or VL so why is it when you encash, it gets taxed again?

Almost all banks are offering 5-yr TDs. Interest rates are higher plus the biggest catch is its TAX-FREE (that's 20% of the interest earned). If you really need it in an emergency, you can withdraw anytime but you loose the interest, suggest you keep your accounts at the 250K max level (PDIC insured) each.... its a safe investment

I am very grateful to have met you and wish we can maintain the friendship we have started in
the future. I do not see us moving beyond that. I know how much time is important to you; hence,
I would not like to waist any more of it than i already have.
I see my old self in you. You are hardworking and driven. You have your whole future right in
front of you and well within reach. You have found your right cause/reason. But, that, i have
learned, is not where i want to go. Despite my successes, i have yet to find mine and i remain
empty until then.
take care, drive carefully...
