  1. Best not to do food parks in Maginhawa. For those I've tried, I'll go for Soru Izakaya and Shao-Kao Grillery.

Thanks! Seems like good places. I'll try to go visit sometime. Join me? Hahaha! Kidding! Haven't been in the area in years......so it's going to be new to me again since I live a bit too far for some people. Thanks again!!

  2. Guys ano magandang laptop na good for gaming, office and videos.

    Thanks

    Good day sir.

Depends I guess on what your budget is. I'd like to think na you know your minimum specs na. I think Asus is a good brand when it comes to gaming and Predator based on what I've read and heard from those who have. It depends na lang siguro on how much are you willing to spend. There are some laptops in the 40-60k range that have 4gb graphics cards which may suit your needs. I have a semi (?) gaming laptop with 4gb graphics and 12gb of RAM. I just added an SSD to help things a bit for games, office and videos. Overall, I can play most games at a medium setting which is just right for me. Ayoko lang ipush yung battery too much since it wears it down. Lenovo sa akin. Asus, MSi and Dell have some gaming laptops and so does Acer but I think Asus is a good bet din naman. Defer na lang ako to those who know better than I do. Hope that helps.

  3. Can any of the people who have electronic cigarettes share their views about this product?

    Answer questions like:

"How is the taste compared to a real cigarette and what are the flavors?"

"Does it really fix your nicotine fixation?"

"Does it help you quit smoking?"

"How long does a cartridge last?"

"What is the best e-cigarette brand and the best model from said brand?"

"How much is it and where can I buy it?"

"Is it sturdy or does it break easily?"

Thanks to all those who can answer some / all of the questions above.

Feel free to promote the e-cigarette you are selling (if you are indeed selling them). Thanks!

    Hey there.

First, I'd like to tell you that I am both a smoker and a vaper. The reason is I am slowly reducing my cigarette smoking (later I will tell you if it's successful or not). Secondly, I am not as well-schooled as other vapers/e-cigarette users out there and this is just based on my personal experience. Having said all that, here goes.

There are different nicotine contents in the MANY different flavors out there. Some have "hits" similar to that of real cigarettes. Others have minimal content. It really depends on what you are looking for. For me, the lower content compared to what I smoke is what I am after since I am slowly reducing it. As I have said, there are tons of flavors out there. From cigar/cigarette flavors (I have Cubanos and Marlboro Black), to fruity kinds and then there's the pastries. To talk about the nicotine fixation and the helping in quitting, it does. Ever since I started using vapes, my consumption of a pack has gone from a full pack a day to a pack for almost a full week. I alternate and there are days where I go vaping the whole day. I have both a nicotine and an oral fixation with the nicotine fixation slowly going away (very slowly but there's progress I'd like to think) but it's the oral fixation that's the clincher. The feel of a cigarette between your fingers and the subsequent feel of the filter and pull of the puff is still there. There are many different vapes out there from cartridge, pods, tanks, etc. and it varies in price. For places to buy, a search on facebook and on the net should help you with that with lots of them offering a ton of rigs and devices. They might also help you with the technicalities, the pros/cons of each devices and find what's best suited for you. To help with the "health" benefits or issues, here are some videos you might want to watch and a product or two to consider. Plus sides to it, you don't smell like an ashtray (breath-wise, hands and clothes-wise).

This really depends on you. Take everything in "with a grain of salt". Some people would agree and also disagree. Sometimes, no matter how much research is done, studies and all, one has to admit, vape or cigarette, we are still inhaling something in that's not "natural" I guess. Check out the different devices on Lazada, Shopee. Megamall has a vape stall near NBS if I remember right or there might be one near your place.

I hope this points you in the direction you like. And I assume you smoke, so hat's off to you in wanting to reduce or outright quit it by finding alternative ways to get "our" fixation on the things. Have a good one.

    PS

For the others who might read this, please feel free to correct me or add. As I said, I am no expert and I was also briefed and convinced to try it out. I will defer to those with more knowledge and experience who might help you find the answers you need.

  5. June 2019 Dumaguete ❤️

Just happened upon your profile and saw this post. Makes me wish I knew you personally and that we could have had coffee or drinks over in Dumaguete. My go to place to just get away. Anyway, a simple hello and wishing you a good weekend ahead. Take care always.

  6. I just want to insert that a China phone (in concept) is different from a phone that's made in China.

If you've encountered phones back then, those with antennas, dual or triple Sim slots, another brand look-alike, comes with Chinese characters... Those were the China phones. In short, pinilit ilagay sa isang device na may kamukhang model ng ibang brand.

And a phone that's made in China is another thing. It can be an iPhone that's made in China, a Samsung that's made in China... (I specifically used the iPhone and Samsung, because as we all know iPhone was developed in US and Samsung was developed in Korea).

Oh, and there's a Chinese brand for a phone. In which the following comes in, like the Huawei, Oppo, Vivo, Xiaomi, (what else?). In which for this case, what can we do if they've been found and first developed in China, and that made them a Chinese smartphone brand?

I think what some consumers are blinded with is the fact on how the manufacturing works for these brands. (Well, can't blame them, they just buy and use the phone, right?). In which big global brands go to China for the massive and low cost production of their devices. Although some are also shifting to other Asian countries, China still has more percentage for the production.

    Just that, folks.

    Totally agree with sOin2you.

Manufacturing costs are sky-rocketing and with China offering a more affordable labor force (and a large one albeit) it only is sensible for the big brands to go that direction. And yes, when it's made in China, it means that it was assembled there yet the parts and the processes are dictated by the brand. Now China-made then you've got your Chinese brands. Frankly, I am quite amazed at some of the Chinese brands who have, not only developed a following, but have come out with great phones. I am a Chinese brand user currently because it does offer devices at a much lower cost yet with flagship specifications.

One thing buyers should remember when you are thinking of purchasing a Chinese brand, make sure you get the global version of the phone.

  7. Redmi Note 7 by Xiaomi

6.3-inch FHD display with a dot drop notch, Snapdragon 660 SoC, a dual rear camera setup sporting a resolution up to 48 + 5 million pixels with AI. USB C charging and a host of other great things for the price. I was looking for an alternative to my aging, yet reliable Vivo V3 for some gaming of mostly sim-related, heavy graphics games like Madden and World of Warships Blitz. Having been reviewed by several YouTubers and decided to get one. For the price, its bang for the buck overall. Great display and great battery. With an occasional game of two - three hours max during the day, I usually will charge early morning of the next day. No problems with graphics which for me rarely lags (except with internet connection). The only small (not a deal breaker) drawback is that it does not come with earphones. It does have a wonderful staple of the headphone jack. Like I said, not really a deal breaker given the headphones Xiaomi or the Mi Store offers is quite affordable and frankly, is quite nice sounding. Comes with a gel case and the usual accoutrements.

For the price of less than 8k, I think it is a great buy. Fast wireless charging (less than 1.5 hours for me to full), expandable memory, dual-sim and a fast processor with a gpu to help it out. It does more. Oh yeah, the shots on the camera are actually quite good. It's got night mode, the selfie AI does well though it does oversaturate but if you just want to see the person clearly, blur the background, then the selfie and the dual camera set-up offers a lot more.

OS ver Android 9.0 (Pie) MIUI 10 SIM Nano SIM , Dual SIM , Dual Standby CPU Qualcomm SDM660 Snapdragon 660 (14 nm)
    Octa core CPU Speed 2.2 GHz Storage 32GB , 64GB , 128GB RAM 6GB , 3GB , 4GB External Storage microSD, up to 256 GB (uses SIM 2 slot) Battery 4000mAh (typ) / 3900mAh (min)
    Built-in rechargeable battery

  8. I actually was "introduced" to MTC by a chatmate a loooooooong time ago. I had an account before but didn't get to log on as often due to work. Created a new one now and it has now expanded quite a lot.

Knew about the "singles" scene then now the topics are varied and very interesting. Hoping the rest of the topics don't get buried and continue on.

  9. any comments sa iphone x ,bad comment or which is better IPX or S9 Plus??

I know this is late, however if you are still looking at getting any of the two, it might be best to get the S9 Plus.

However, with the release of the new phones for 2019, there are a lot more choices out there beyond iPhone and the Galaxy S series. It depends on what you want to do with the phone. Certainly the new phones of Huawei, Google Pixel, Oppo and my current favorite Mi/Xiaomi phones. The only thing is how prohibitive you think the price is. Hope that helps. Oh yeah, the IPx of the S9 is higher than that of the iPhone X. Now is an even playing field.

  10. One form (with steps) of Happiness is:

    1. Waking up in the morning

    2. Waking up in the morning beside your very significant other (still imagining, wishing and hoping for the very significant other part)

    3. Enjoying a good cup of coffee, rain or shine, with that very significant other.

    4. Repeat from step one (this already includes being happy you have a job and a roof over your head) :D

  11. Good day MTC members.

Hope all is well with you. A new and old member at the same time. Just made a new account and glad to be back. Anyway, what's new and happening in the Maginhawa area (or any area for that matter)? Used to frequent it though far. Any recommendations on great food finds, nice hang out coffee shops and bars to enjoy a nightcap? Just chill places. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. I guess I am a bit overwhelmed with the number of posts so I decided to get your responses. Thanks!

    Have a good day everyone!
