    Peter Brickley should have been. He had supported the Smiths with a previous band and impressed enough that Johnny Marr offered to produce the Wallflowers' first album; Andy Partridge produced their terrific third (and final) single, "83.7 Degrees"; Janice Long championed thenm. But it never happened, despite the support. The Smiths split just as Marr was due to produce the Wallflowers, their label folded and another pop dream collapsed. But this first single, from 1986, holds all the promise that was never fulfilled: a chiming, soaring guitar line, to suit a song about the joys and fears of The First Time ("Take off your halo for a while, my angel / Lay down beside me in the dark on the recreation ground"), which never descends into either salciousness or coyness. This was the kind of 60s-inflected pop that some of the C86-ers were striving for but had not yet seen quite enough of life to manage. Marvellous. And nothing to do with Jakob Dylan.

    irishgirl, I don't have any memory of such a song in the 80s...

     

    Meanwhile, The Wallflowers is a band that formed in 1990 and had its first release in 1992 and hit it big in 1996.  Therefore, The Wallflowers is not a band that had hits in the 80s

     

    Perhaps the artist name is wrong and also, i can't find any title that matches your query in the title either...

     

     

    lolz... their record label or manager was the same as the smiths and uhhmmm before they can release their album the label or manager had some trouble or something... not the wallflowers (dylan) ... they was an earlier UK group called the wallflowers... blushing girl nervous smile was the single they had released... can u check on the song title, maybe u can find it by that ... i heard NU play this one a long time ago....

    This band basically had only UK hits in most of its existence except twice in 1983.  Madness was already known for Baggy Trousers which was adapted into a Colgate commercial.  Their 1982 album, Rise and Fall, released a single called Our House which went to #8 in the US and Top 5 in UK.  A single It Must Be Love peaked at #34 in the US but went Top 10 in the UK.  Madness released another album which churned out UK hits Michael Caine and Uncle Sam

     

    By 1987, Madness disappeared from the UK charts and never to return

    chikiting pako ko non pero i distinctly remember they were going to record the rattle and hum concert by karaoke and mic lolz... and they were so surprised that i know all the songs... fave ko pa ung party girl ng u2 hahhaha... they were in their early teens na noon mga 15 up lolz... and my fave line " this song is not a rebel song, this song is about sunday, sunday bloody sunday" hahahhaha... rocker pa si toto noon tapos si amy grant christian singer pa.. lolz.... uso din ung tretorn na may mga sulat lolz and neon colored sock to shirts lolz... tapos ang lakas ng show ni pepe pimentel sa channel 13 lolz... tapos i remember my parents going to this pag ibig fellowship... BIGBANG sa alabang!!! kelngan lahat ng freebies sa mc do and jollibee meron kmi.. tapos fave ko ung little pony and friends lolz... si arsenio hall namamayagpag pa.. at ang kantang pambansa eh blame it on the rain ata not sure if this was 80's or early 90's... tapos serg pa ung chocolate noon...

    sino sa inyo ang merong mga tonka na laruan? and buhay pa ba ang mga 33 rpm records nyo? dami ko pang ganun, di ko na magamit.. depeche mode, tears for fears, the clash, the call, spandau ballet, the housemartins, at iba pa.. nagtanong ako kung magkano magconvert from 33 rpm records to cd's, 800 pesos per cd raw! nampucha mas mahal pa sa bagong non-pirated cd..\

    Goodah! Da best sya! yun nga lang medyo may kamahalan na sya ngayon di tulad ng dati na halos gabi-gabi ay nandun kami.

     

    oo sarap doon yummm... wala na daw ung goodah sa bf.. giba na daw.. shucks so sad naman... gotong batangas.. yeah sarap yon.... pero i never tried the bats and balls lolz... mas trip ko ung gotong kalye ung nsa cart lolz.. iba eh masarap tlga.. ung pinupuntahan kong cart nsa tabi ng palengke ng bicutan lolz... take away lagi lolz.. yummmmmm

    lolz, yeah i agree... sizzling stop after shift 5 am...or shell select at ung mini cute kaso giba na nung huling punta ko lolz. jan sa may ortigas .... pati aisee's pagbukas na lolz.. whistle stop sa shang lolz..... beer at 5 am in the morning at u cant say no... so nagiging alcoholic ka bec. of ur work and maSArap lng tlga magrelax pagmay beer na hawak lolz... after being cussed and threatened on the phone for 8 hours u deserve it lolz... CHEERS
