I'm using Windows for online games (Direct X dependent). Otherwise, it's Linux Ubuntu.

I still get to listen to newer bands kaso hindi nako katulad dati: makakuha ng isang heavy metal LP casette...aabutin ng magdamag kakapakinig...maghahanap ng tab...iku-kuwento sa kabarkada for the nth time kung gaano kabigat yung napakinggan ko...

I listen to a lot of genrés actually but I guess I have my roots in rock.

Wala ba dito nakikinig ng Liquid Tension Experiment?

..Guitar player here, I'm getting into PC Home recording and getting good

at drums (at least the one available on SONAR). Para akong may sariling banda

haha!.. I can comp the drum sequence ng mga pondo ko and play along with a

band na hindi napapagod. I can give my actual band copies of the songs with their parts

deleted so they can play along and sa rehearsals isang pasada lang.

 

..got me thinking of composing my own music na rin. Na inspire ako sa SONAR, it's just the

tool i need.

Anong version iyan? Cake Walk SONAR yan di ba? Gamit ko kasi Cake Walk Pro 9. Ganun din style ng band ko atm. Hehehehe.

I started out with GNR. Hehehehe. Pero I must admit, from there naging aware ako sa 'ROCK AGE' and thus begins my life-long flirt with music.

Yung metal experience ko started when I got my hands on (not in order of succession btw) a few Metallica albums, Sepultura, Megadeth, Slayer, White Zombie, Pantera, Pungent Stench, Yngwie Malmsteen, Rush...

They're the names I remember when asked of metal preferences 'noon'.

Now, my daily staple diet in the Metal Division consists of: Dream Theater, Symphony X, Yngwie Malmsteen (yup, up to now hehehe), Rusty Cooley, Joe Stump, Liquid Tension Experiment, and other more-on-technicality bands.

Me and my high school buds still play tunes from Pantera and Sepultura whenever we get together in a rehearsal studio. But we mainly play Dream Theater nowadays and some laid-back tunes like Eric Johnson bluesy-type of songs. Tumatanda na kasi..lumalambot na

Guitars.

I play anything that pleases my ears.

Classical, Rock, Jazz, Flamenco...kahit ano...

Rush.

prog rock & neo-classical naman ang trip ng band namin pero personal preferences ko is jazz, blues, and funk. Nadurog na yung Genesis Series kong guitar kasi use-and-abuse/wear-and-tear kaka-plug-n-play

GFX707 lang gadget ko at wala akong amp (karaoke namin dati kaso napunit ko yata speaker...ayaw na kasi tumunog)

I went to that site. I tried to look for pentatonic. I found it but I don't know what the hell I was looking at. I see the guitar, the notes, the tab near the bottom. do I follow the tab? Is this sort of an exercise for the fingers? What do I do with this?

Tablature Explained

Sampol lang yan ng iskala o 'scale'.

Ang scale kasi yung basic element para makagawa ka ng melody. Ika nga eh 'adlib';'guitar solo';etc.

Kung may balak kang mag-adlib, pag-aaralan mo iyang scale. Eventually, mapag-aaralan mo iyan kasi kahit pa-strum-strum ka lang magkaka-ideya ka sa melodic movement ng tinu-tugtog mo. At one point, mapapa-adlib ka talaga.

Suggest ko mag-browse ka using google for guitar lessons and related articles.
