Was wondering if someone could give advise as to how long the life is of a regular car battery. My car's an automatic and I'd like to know how long I should keep the old battery before it needs replacement. I don't want to be in a situation where I can't start the car when I'm on my way home.

it is usually 3 to 4 years. Thats normal operation like pasok sa umaga sa ofis tapos uwi sa gabi. But if you start/stop the engine more frequently mas mabilis sya madedeplete.

my brother was stopped at a checkpoint recently. he had everything with him: proper OR/CR and up to date, proper restriction in license, was wearing a healmet.

 

the checkpoint was manned by the LTO.

 

however, they cited him for not wearing gloves!

 

the other riders were cited too with not wearing socks and/or not wearing shoes.

i've seen big bikes speeding like hell in NLEX... namimili siguro ng huhulihin ang mga officers. eto offtopic..... meron ding mga small bikes (125cc / 150cc) na nakakadaan sa NLEX... and of course sino pa ba mga gagawa nun? mga abusadong pulis at traffic enforcer (lang naman).

first, what is your interpretation of 'scam'? Scam can mean two things:

1. The whole thing/business/propaganda is a scam but really pays, and

2. no one gets paid and just fool and take people's money.

about the unleaded gas thing. yesterday I drained my bike of premium and tried a half liter of unleaded then went around the subdivision to try out unleaded gas. grabe ang decrease in performance! power is not so good, so does acceleration (therefore not advisable when stopping infront of an intersection traffic light), mahina sa pagakyat, etc. after 3 rounds around the subdivision i returned home and again drained my gas tank and burned off the rest of the unleaded gas. added premium again then went around the subdivision. pansin ko parang sakal pa rin ang acceleration so returned home and inspected the bike.

 

turns out may carbon deposit agad sa carburator. eh kakatune up ko lang within the week.

talagang hihina yan sir kasi bumaba ang octane. Ang pro lang talaga sa mga lower octanes is mas matipid, pero kailangan mong pigain ng mas malalim ang silinyador (same with cars). Sa mga engine na mababa ang displacement mas malakas ang chances ng "knocking" lalo na pag magaan ang paa/kamay mo sa gas.

opinion ko lang sa hardstarting sa morning, unang i-check is battery, pag ok naman ang boltahe dun ka naman sa spark plug. Pag nilinis mo na yung spark plug at ganun pa din, linis ng valves/carb, check mo din gap ng tip ng spark plug baka masyadong hiwalay or dikit. Karaniwan kasi pag hardstarting baka timing na ng engine. Opinion lang po mga boss.
