  1. I've seen the rooms in T house, Discovery Country Suites and The Boutique Bed and Breakfast. I'm just wondering if there are other places in Tagaytay with the same amenities as these hotels. I'm looking for a special and romantic place to stay with my girlfriend, not just generic hotel type rooms.

I've stayed in all three and the Boutique blows the other two away in terms of romantic atmosphere. For Tagaytay, these three are the best accomodations for a romantic weekend. Medyo mahal, but sulit.

  2. Looking for new grads in the Binan-Sta. Rosa Area

  3. I am considering attending AIM's Masters in Management program (11 month program).  Lately, I feel that I missed out on something.  My family immigrated to the California when I was 11.  California is home but I'd like to spend a full year in the Philippines as an adult.  It's sort of an itch that I need to scratch.

I did exactly what you want to do 10 years ago. After graduating from UCLA, I went to the Philippines on vacation and stayed for almost a year to scratch the itch. I worked for a local company, had a great time but in the end, I decided, my riches will be made in the US. 10 years later, I'm 5 years away from early retirement and then I'm ready to go back to the Philippines for good.

  4. I live in the US but am now becoming more invested in the Philippines in preparation for my retirement. I am involved in one business (transportation) and will be starting up another biz, supplying some hardware goods from the US to factories in the Philippines.

First question, is there a better way to transfer/send money (USD) to the Philippines from the US instead of wire transfers? For example, can I set up a US Account here in Los Angeles and my representative in the Philippines can write a check against it. We're talking amounts of 500K to 1 Million pesos transaction. W/c bank is preferrable? Citibank?

Also, anybody experience in shipping/receiving items from the US to the Philippines? Anybody in the import/shipping biz here that can offer insights. The regular carriers, UPS, DHL and Fedex are prohibitively expensive.

  5. I think balikbayans esp. from the US tend to criticize everything while in the Philippines. They complain about the trapik, the smells, the "undisciplined." Palagi kinocompare sa States. Nakakainis pakinggan. Para bang sila lang ang may alam. They fail to appreciate the better things in life in the Philippines like family and respect for their elders. Yun lang po.
