  1. Miss ko na Jonah's Shakes ah... and Shenna's Bar and Resto... Good Food :)

Last time I went to Boracay, I flew Seair into Caticlan, and settled into Escondido Resort. It's a clean and quiet resort, and staff provided excellent service. I really enjoyed my 7 night stay.

Food can be somewhat expensive, at least for me. I usually bought lobsters, crabs, or the fresh fish caught earlier in the mornings. Most restaurants will cook them for you and provide all the rice and side dishes at no additional cost, since lobster and crab dinner can run 3500 to 4000 for two people. We had fresh buko juice that was picked right from the trees near us, and that will run around 120. You can hire a private banca boat to go around the island, visit neighboring islands and caves, and do some snorkeling. You can haggle and get some good deals.

I'll probably go to Palawan or Siquijor for my next trip.

  2. The MRT is the best way to travel along EDSA.  When I visit the Philippines (I'm from L.A.), I ride the MRT to travel between QC and Makati.  While riding the MRT, I observe the pace of traffic on EDSA and thank my lucky stars that the MRT exists.

As for the LRT (from Pasay), I hear from some people that it is not well kept and that many have had their pockets picked while riding on it.  I, therefore, do not ride the LRT.  How accurate are their accounts?  Are there many pick pockets on the LRT?  Are the LRT cars not as clean as MRT cars?

Same with me. When I stay in Makati, I take MRT up to QC daily, since I think it's a much better alternative to taking a taxi. But when I stay in Malate, I take LRT down to EDSA station, and change over to MRT to go up to QC. I find that LRT cars are cleaner and better kept than MRT cars. LRT is normally not as crowded, and I find it safer also. Just keep your wits about you, and you don't have to worry about pickpockets. I haven't been victimized yet.
