They also didn't give me a discount at VC Malate when I stayed there...maybe the black card is just for show?

  2. I'm heading out to Tagaytay on the third week of April for a weekend trip. You guys have any ideas where I could stay for a reasonable rate? Php2k or less a night is preferred.

Are the tripadvisor.com recommendations still good?

  3. I'd still prefer the house and lot. I can't do DIY things in a condo like repainting furniture, doing repairs on my van, etc. Too many condo rules also. Have to make note to admin office just to bring up my OWN furniture from my other house. Have to make note again in case I decide to take said furniture or appliance home again. Also hate waiting for the elevator.

I'd rather have a house an hour's drive away from work than a condo which is walking distance from my place of work.

  4. Any FR on this? Sounds interesting.

Btw, my ENT told me not to clean my ears daily. Just do it twice or thrice a week. Reason being that ear wax actually has some protective properties. It not only protects your ears from excessive noise by acting as a buffer, it also protects the skin of your ear from drying out.

According to him, dried skin in the ear can be favorable to the growth of organisms which cause otitis. And the meds for this ain't that cheap.

  5. Try visiting the usual auto enthusiast forums and you'll get tons of horror stories on Rapide. Sites like autoindustriya and Kotse.com to name two.

It seems that they have quota system where they must average a certain amount of pesos per car they do.

If one car did not meet the quota, they have to make bawi with the other clients.

They have come ons like cheap change oils and free this and that but while you are having the cheap change oil the Rapide person will come to you with a laundry list of parts that are supposed to be replaced as per their assessment. Mind you, a lot of the parts on their list aren't even broken. What's worse, the cost of the part and the labor to install it is sky high especially when you consider that Rapide is not affiliated with any car manufacturer.

They also have their lifetime brake warranty promo which I think is a scam. To keep the warranty in effect, you have to follow all their recommendations which usually results in a lot of unecessary component replacement.

Try and visit a Rapide outlet. Most of the clients there are family drivers that have been sent over by their amos who don't know squat about cars.
