Imagine the fortuner naka drum brake parin resulting in poor braking performance.
yung suspension sucks, mas maganda pa sakyan hilux surf japan surplus walang bumpy

My Dad, family members etc. are Toyota fanatics. hirap lang ako makipagtalo kasi ang mga luma nilang Toyota like 93 GLI ay tumatakbo pa din compared sa mga ibang kotse ng kapanahunan niya.
Iba kasi ang reliability ng Toyota , mataas na ang quality nila dati pa kaya madaming loyalists.

with my observation, it happens every time the rear seats is folded. pag naka fold kasi natatakpan ang aircon. I am sure it has something to do with it

I informed about my agent about the "loud" sound from Park to Reverse and ang " Kadyot" every time nag uupshift and downshift ang car, they have a new program daw as of aug 31, I will bring it sa casa na lang for 1k service

If its temporary , kung nagyayari lang eto tuwing nag oover eat ka at naayos ng Dulcolax, then nothing to worry about. pero pag 1 month kang consipated na masakit tumae, pa check ka na sa Gastro sir, baka may tumor ka sa colon. Happened to my mother.

Totoo po bang malambot suspension sa likod?
Ang totoo is " mas Lumambot" pero do not expect it to give a car like ride. Remember the Chassis is taken from a pick up truck where in Rigidity is priority. Pero may difference sa previous generation fortuner.
My problem with my unit, I do not know if normal lang or hindi is kung nasa P position ka and Nilagay sa Reverse, may loud banging sound. First time for me to experience it on a daily driver.

waste of money for a stock daily driven car just use the money to buy a headers
agreed, the amount of power is determined by the amount of AIr and fuel your car can efficiently burn. although mas free flowing ang K and N filter, it does not mean anything if your Air Fuel ratio will remain the same.
those people who say that they experience a difference, chances are , madumi ang previous air filter mo.
I am not saying K and N airfilter is useless but dropping it in with out tuning will not do anything

I myself have a 2012 2.5G Fortuner and am getting the "itch" to buy a newer model for 2017. Your review helps as I am at a crossroads to stay with Toyota or cross into the dark side and purchase a 2017 Montero instead.
Actualy when my wife said she wanted a new car, the Montero popped into my mind. It has more features like
1. Blind spot notification system
2. Forward collision mitigation system
3. Low compression high boost engine
the only downside is
1. Di ko ma gets kung ano ang gusto nila patunayan sa design ng Likod ng car nila. What is it? ang ganda ng harap pero ang likod? di ko maintindihan. Parang isang babae na may magandang mukha at magandang boobs pero walang pwet. parang ganun.
But she really wanted the Fortuner because she believes that Toyota's will last forever . Next purchase ko after two years lets see kung ok pa ang montero

I got my wife's 2016 fortuner 4x4 yesterday . the feeling inside the cabin is very similar. here are the imrpovements of the 2016 model compared to my 2012 2.5g and 2008 3.04x4
1. The engine noise is minimal sa all new. Halos tunog gas engine na sa loob ng cabin pero pag labas mo tunog diesel pa din. ibig sabihin ay makalapal ang soundproofing for the new fortuner.
2. mas mabilis ang engine response ng 2.8diesel compared sa previous 2.5 diesel and 3.0 diesel. pag apak mo sa accelerator may hila agad , ang old fortuners ko kasi hihintay ka pa ng isa o dalawang segundo bago sumipa ang turbo.
3. may new features siya galling sa ibang mamahalin na Toyota. Meron siyang AHO (automatic headlight on) kung dumilim. example from QC circle dumaan ako sa Q.ave, pag dating sa tunnel kusang bumukas ang ilaw. this feature is standard on European vehicles and sa lexus. nakakatuwa na napunta sa Fortuner. Pag nagpakarga ka ng gas, automotac tatanungin ka ng On board computer kung magkano ang presyo kada litro . nakakatuwa kasi malalaman mo na ang exacting consume mo pag may pinuntahan kang lugar , hindi mo na sasabihin na " Pare qc -tagaytay-qc 600 pesos lang ang gas ko" makokompute mo na per trip " 558.83php" ang galling
4. Power na ang rear door, and mas madali na I fold ang rear seats, hindi mo na kailangan umakyat sa likod para ayusin eto.
5. Spotify ready ang switches sa manibela
now ang downside
1. Matagtag pa din, although may improvement ng konti. pero di pa rin kasing ganda ng innova
2. Front Disc brake, Rear Drum Brake pa din. 1980's pa eto ah. ang Montero 2012 pa lang front and rear disc brake na.
2. pag nagtagal ka sa loob ng 2016 fortuner, feeling mo nasa loob ka lang din ng 2012 fortuner. same lay out pa din
Kung ang fortuner mo ay 2004-2011, pede ka na magpalit. kung 2012-2015, huwag mo ibenta fortuner mo para bumili ng bago. Hindi kasi masyadong " all new " ang feel.
again kaya ako bumili ng 2016 is nagpabili lang ang wife ko.
pero kung ako papapiliin , mas madaming features ang Montero at Everest. mahirap lang makipagtalo kasi matibay talaga ang toyota

stupid mistake last week. I left my Radar blocker at a different car . I got a ticket sa nlex. This is their Evidence so mahirap makipagtalo. Definitely not my fastest run kasi halos kakapasok ko pa lang sa nlex when the pic was taken

IMHO only way to find out if you've gained additional torque or hp is if you have the car dyno'ed before and after installing a performance part.
Usualy guys who do modifications will install the modifications, run the car on the dyno and change paramaters like air fuel ratio, cam timing etc.
the advantages of your modification such as this K and N airfilter will only be realized if you tune the car. but just dropping it in will not cause any gains. it would be more like a placebo effect.
After market Airfilters produce this " sucking" sound that is very addictive if you experience it for the first time. This is the reason why people tend to be heavy on the throttle, hence, lower gas mileage

I do not think that if you change your fairfilter ay automaticaly you will gain horsepower. From my years of being a grease monkey/tuner, ang nagkeclaim na lumakas ang auto nila due to Airfilter change (k and N, Simota, cobb etc)
1. may marumi silang current airfilter na napalitan ng malinis na filter kaya nakahinga ng husto ang makina, kungbaga parang naperiodic maintenance ang kanilang auto. Eto kadalasan kaya ang naglagay ng new after market filter nasasabi nilang " Pare lakas ng auto ko, ganda ng response" and totoo naman gumanda agad ang takbo ng auto nila dahil nakahinga ang auto nila ng husto
2. akala lumakas ang auto nila dahil nakakarinig ng malakas na higop. (I thought lumakas ang ESI ko way back in 1995 dahil may naririnig akong kakaibang higop).
huwag lang basta basta din magpalit ng filter Lalo na ang mga " Cone" type filter. If ang cone type filter na malalagay mo ay hindi makakahigop ng sariwang hanging galling sa labas, huwag niyo na palitan kasi makakahina pa ng kotse .
also may mga bagong " Race Type" filter now na aluminum mesh ang gamit and claims to have the maximum air flow. This may be true pero tandaan ang mga " Racing " products na eto ay dinvelop para sa mga makina na ginagamit lang sa race track , meaning hindi kasing alikabok ng kalsada.
also ang mga race engines, sanay silang buksan ang makina every few races so kung may duming nakapasok sa makina, kaya nila linisin to make sure ok pa ang tolerances ng makina.

ang Mu X ang strong points niya ay
1. tahimik sa loob, madaming " Deadening " Agents ang ginamit kaya hindi mo halos marinig ang ingay ng diesel sa loob ng cabin.
2. 4wheel disc brake ang Mu X di gaya ng fortuner na ang likod ay drum brake pa din. di ko alam kung bakit hanggang ngayon ang likod drum brake pa din. very 1990's.
3. compared sa aking 2012 fortuner, mas maganda ang ride ng MU X.
pa wait lang sir para malaman which is better imho.
ang for sure na panalo sa fortuner ay 2.8L ang makina niya ang MU x ng pinsan ko ay 2.5l. ang 3.0L naman na mu x ay hindi ko pa nasasakyan
