If you happen to chance by Katipunan near Blue Ridge there is a hole-in-the-wall "lutong-bahay" style of cooking restaurant where Sbarro Office is (YDG Building to be exact beside Montalbo). Gabe's is the name of the restaurant located on the 2nd floor with ample parking space (even sa basement meron if maulan). Iba iba dishes nila such as mga silog (longsilog, tapsilog, even their beestseller horseylog or tapang kabayo), pasta (Pancit Malabon, Spaghetti, Carbonara even in bilao), Kare-Kare, Crunchy Sisig, Lechon Kawali, Halo-Halo, Laing, Salmon, Lengua, Half Pounder Burger and many more! Honestly for the portion, price and taste, everything is highly recommended. Sisig is something I have never tasted, the lengua full of flavor and tapang kabayo no smell or aftertaste and better than most tapsilogs. Also read on one of their reviews on FB that horsemeat is high in protein and B-complex. Kare-Kare had so many veggies and bagoong just pure bliss.

 

Definitely worth coming back for the delectable food, amiable staffs, cool place to hangout, request songs while chillin for coffee and has adult games.

 

Two thumbs up to this secret gem across Ducati and after Hoy Panga/Nathaniel's. Please do give them a try.
