  1. Id like to ask lang po sana what should i do... Im an immigrant here in the US and I want to petition my fiance...

My inital plan, go back to the philippines, marry her, then file a petition as my spouse.

What I want to know is, is this possible, and if so, how long will it take for the US immigration to process her petition, since I am just at the moment, an Immigrant?

I know that the fastest way is wait for my citizenship, but since that'll take 5 years pa, parang ang tagal masyado. Or is this the fastest route talaga?

    Tnx po.

  2. @reachard:

i also use a d40. question lang po ser, ano ba talaga habol mo? to capture yung place or yung tao na nagpeperform?

if it's the first, ok lang naman yung buga ng flash mo, na light up naman ung place i think, and hindi naman sya masyadong bright, IMHO.

kung second naman, then I suggest, lowering your ISO settings, para mag compensate yung camera for the low light settings nung place. siguro, 800 above na ISO, makukuha mo yung habol mong look. yun nga lang, grainy na yung picture mo nun (although, ang kinaganda ng d40, kahit sa ISO 800, hindi pa ganun ka obvious ang noise ;)) And try using either your aperture priority or shutter priority settings to get more options sa shots mo. auto mode/program modes mostly lets the camera decide what is best, para mas makita ung subjects ng pic. remember na what's best for the camera, might not be the best shot for you. so play around with your settings once in a while. :)

hope this helps po. Mga masters, I'm sure me mas tama pa po kayong mabibigay na tips kay reachard. sensya na po sa tip kong ito. :)

  3. It will be my first time going to HK this coming November. We were able to get roundtrip tickets (Cebu Pacific) for 5K++ only!

Eto lang po mga questions ko:

    1) Since 2 night and three days lang kami and we skipped going to Disneyland (we opted for Ocean Park instead), kakayanin kaya namin makapunta sa Macau for some poker?

    2) Is Tung Chung where all those abovementioned stores are at?

    3) How cold would it be in HK in November? Mas malamig ba sa Baguio?

    Thanks!

    hi djflip

    1. pwede siguro, but considering na 3 days 2 nites lang kayo, i would advise against it eh. HK has a lot of places pa na you can visit, and i doubt you can finish everything in one day. Most probably kasi ganito mangyayari sa inyo e:

    a. arrive in hk aiport, say 8:00 am (if you got the 5:00 am flight), you'd probably be out of immigration by say, 9:30, grab a bus or eat, either way, malamang dating mo na sa hk proper around between 11:00 to 12:00. so half a day na ang nawala sa inyo. :( now up to you if you want to look around pagdating nyo sa hotel nyo or rest muna. you could probably visit, The Peak, Symphony of Lights and Avenue of the Stars on that day na rin siguro. Kung kaya pa, you can also visit Mongkok para sa Night Market, Ladies Market. Pagod lang nga kayo. heheheh

    b. 2nd day, you have Ocean Park to visit. You could probably be finished with the place ng mga 5 hours, yun e kung hindi ka na mag ra-rides :) but if you do, I'll say cguro aalis ka sa OP ng around 4 - 5 na. So ubos na din oras nyo.

    c. 3rd day, assuming that you got the last flight back to Manila (10:00 pm), you have a little bit of shopping to do in the morning sa area siguro ninyo, then if you really want to go to CityGate, that's about 30 minutes travel time via MTR. So let's say dating ka dun ng 12:00 afternoon. chances are, matatapos ka sa cguro mga 2:00 or 3:00, so you have to go back to your hotel to check out (you can check out early if you want then just come back to get your luggage, just request to them na ganun gagawin mo, papayag naman sila e) then libot lang saglit, tapos head to the airport ng 6:00 in the evening for the 3 hour check in time. if you do arrive early naman sa Airport, pwede ka din maglibot dun kasi malaki sya and there are a lot of shops to go through.

So as you can see, I doubt you'll have time to visit Macau, IMHO, kasi uubos talaga kayo ng oras din, e almost an hour din ang travel from HK to Macau, not to mention the line in Immigration sa Ferry terminal.

    2. Yes, all those mentioned na shops, nasa CityGate. :)

    3. Hindi naman masyado cold, pero hindi din naman sya jacket weather, I think. Basta definitely, hindi sya kasing humid ng say August.

Hope this helps. Opinion ko lang po yan. Just enjoy na lang muna HK, then, just go to Macau some other time na lang. :)

  4. @jacknife: dude, kahit ako, i only have a kit lens, and it can really be a pain, kung habol mo ung mga kuha na low lights. at first, i was tempted to buy a new lens para ma compensate ung mga kulang ko sa pagkukuha. buti na lang, some of my friends said that i could do more with a flash than with a lens. and i'm so glad i listened. :)

now ang next project ko is to get me a prime lens for my low light shots, dahil like you've said, me mga instances na bawal ang flash. but at least i got to enjoy my kit lens to the max. hehehe

    hope this helps

  5. @ cruzer: agree ako kay doc4u, it's better to buy it here... although Nikon after sales service here for me sucks, compared to canons' heheheh, kesa naman sa HK, na once me problem, kailangan mo pa i ship papunta dun. The term pana and indian refers to the user and the camera. so when you say it's not in the pana, but in the indian, it means, it's the photographer and not the camera.

@ terranboy: ok lang naman yan ser, it's a good walk around lens. hindi ka na papalit palit pa ng lens i guess. although mas maganda ata yung VRII version nito i think (meron na nga ba?)

    @ engronairam: nice pix ser!

  6. hi cruzer, depends actually on your budget. whether canon or nikon, you can never go wrong with this 2, but in my opinion, if your going to choose between a 450d or a d60, mag d80 ka na lang... d60 is basically like a d40 IMHO (sensya na po, nikon user e) but if you have the budget, go with the d90!!! wala sa pana yan ser, nasa indian. ;)

as for lenses, hmmm, ulit ko ulit ung tanong ko, ano budget mo... lenses are actually expensive kasi e, for sceneries, you could buy a 10-22mm na wide angle, for portraits, a kit lens would do, pero mas maganda meron ka din 50mm prime, kung macro, syempre bili ka din ng macro lens (sorry, no idea kung anong macro lens maganda eh)

Pero kahit yung kit lens lang, pwede na muna e. it can do most of what you need naman. pagsawaan mo na muna kit lens na kasama sa camera mo. then pag nabibitin ka na, then thats the time you start investing in good glass.

    hope this helps.

  7. couple of questions:

    1. which one is a better alternative for a weekend getaway to HK disneyland:

-going straight to HK disneyland as backpackers?

-getting a package tour for to HK with HK disneyland theme park? like the the ones offered by travel agents and PAL/CebuPac

    2. how much to bring for pocket money? do not consider credit cards for i will use credit cards for souvenirs...

    Thanks for your inputs...

    1. i would say as backpackers siguro, the packages offered by tours normally doesn't last the whole day e, sayang naman if you miss out on the fireworks display... im not sure ha... since when i went there, we didnt get any tour packages kasi e..

    2. assuming by pocket money you meant, minus the usual expenses like rent, food and travel, i would guess kahit 10k extra pocket money is sufficient enough... since live you've said na you'll be using credit cards for the souvenirs.

  8. Question lang, is it true kung mag stay ka sa disney hotel, you get an extra day free?

To sniglet, it's hard to say what the updates are on disneyland since you were there last year. Maybe you need to check their internet site.

Btw, try to avoid going to disneyland on weekdays, kung pwede. I was there last Saturday and every show I went to, I would have to be on the waiting line with 50 to over a hundred of people for 30 minutes. Pero worth it naman ang mga shows dun. If you intend to video tape performances inside their theaters, pls turn your camera lights off (night mode na lang), it's being discouraged, baka ma distract ang mga performers, bigay todo talaga performances nila.

if their promo is still in effect, then yes, you get an extra day free, for the park lang, not for the hotel (last i heard.) the promo was you book an overnite stay at their hotels, and you get an extra free day sa park nila, this i think, also extends to all of your companions as well because their rooms can accomodate up to 4 persons.

and yes, the performances are all worth it! i especially liked the festival of the lion king. galing! if the lines are long, you can always opt for their reservation services, not sure what they call it fast pass ata un, where in you use your park card to reserve a slot then go back at a pre determined time ng hindi ka na pipila. pasok na kaagad.

  9. agree din po ako kay sir kanski. the park visit will really take a big amount of your time. especially since weekend ka pupunta.

when we went there, we spent a whole day at disneyland, from 10:00 am to 6:30 pm (never opted to watch the fireworks for fear of the number of patrons whose going to go home at the same time) food is also a bit expensive inside the park, expect a minimum of 35 to 50hkd for ur food there cguro.

sa ocean park naman, we got in at 10:00 am and left at around 5:30 pm. dami rin kasi tao... unless ang pupuntahan nyo lang dun is ung aquariums and dolphin show, pwede kayo makaalis ng maaga.

all in all, a 3 day, 2 nite visit for hk is good enough, IF, you have no plans of visiting both parks (1 park pwede pa cguro, unless u want to rush it na lang, that way go ka sa 2 parks)

If I may make a suggestion, why not extend your stay for 1 more day. I'm sure d pa kayo pressured (especially since me kasama kayong kids) Around 1.5k additional per head ata ang i aadd nyo sa flight change and additional cost for 1 day sa accomodation. Trust me, mas makakaalis ng stress. hehehe

Most probably kasi, u get the early flight to hk, arrive there around 11-12 noon (sa city or hotel na to ha) e malamang, u'll rest pa. so late afternoon ka na makakalabas. Sa pabalik naman, if ur getting the last flight back, u could spend half a day sa park, go back to ur hotel, check out, look around for an hour or 2 tapos get ready to go to the airport (check in time is 3-4 hours early). So as you can see, bitin kayo sa time. Heck, we stayed for 5 days and bitin pa rin kami. hehhe

    Anyway, hope this helps you.

  10. Mga Sirs,

I'm planning to go there this November with my sister and her 2 kids. Would a budget of P50K be sufficient?

    Appreciate your comments...

    Thanks!

LFT is right, if 50k is just ur budget for the whole trip, then it might not be enough.

then again, when we went there, our budget was around 85k for the 4 of us, for 5 days of stay, including disneyland and ocean park. nag overshoot lang sa budget kami. but ang initial na target (based on calculations) dapat nasa 60k lang for everything including airfare, accomodations and food.

yep!! astig talaga si flash!!!! among the heroes (besides superman) he's one of my favorites!!! regarding the boots, di ko matandaan masyado, but i think its a specially made boots to withstand friction, di ko lang matandaan kung anong klase. it was mentioned before on earlier comics e...

sa bangga naman, nakow sakit nun. heheheh, me mga instances naman na nababangga sya e, most of the time, tulog sya (sakit nun noh)! plus he can vibrate if that ever happens. instinct na kasi sa kanila un e.

also, to point this out lang, sensya na po d nagmamarunong, favorite ko lang po kasi si flash.... the new flash is now bart allen (impulse/kid flash) and he basically is the only one mainlining the speed force now... so far wally west is still missing, presumed dead/ or gone to the speedforce.

the only flash left was jay garrick, but since the guy is old... heheheh madali nang mapagod at di na ganun kabilis. heheheh

    peace lang po....

  12. guys id like to ask lang kung meron na nga bang city ordinance sa manila about back riders? i was flagged last friday sa may quirino corner south express and we were told na bawal na daw ang back riders since august pa. i wasn't able to read the city ordinance code so di ko ma research properly.

does anyone here have any idea bout this? kawawa naman wife ko kc kung ganun...
