  1. well actually it is.  i bought some Lacoste shirts during the Great Sale at Paragon and it was priced at a low $40-$50.  then it was brought down further to $25-$35 at the last week of the sale.  i did asked the saleslady why it was priced so low and she said that some shirts were produced only for the sale so they have to dispose of everything.

are you referring to cotton t-shirts or polo chemise? coz chemize is a staple here, so it cannot be made just for the sale season.

  2. i think your experience with shoes stem from the fact, that noong panahon (i.e. 8 years ago), everything is done in france and us. ngayon, it is either done in vietnam or somewhere else where it is cheaper (i am talking only about the shoes and bags).

so in the "olden" times, it was good, it might not be the same as now.

btw, for those lacoste collectors, i've seen a limited edition golden crocodile range of lacoste. this time, they used their brains and kept the size of the buwaya to normal. not like their anniversary shirt, na they've thrown out their taste right out of the door. anyway, it comes in black, and naturally cost a bit higher around 4-5K Php yata.

  3. Lacoste here is quite expensive.

If you guys know anyone going to Singapore..especially during the Great Sale ... you can actually buy Lacoste shirts from S$25 to S$50.  S$ is about P33.

Now thats a bargain.  And you can be sure its authentic.  bawal fake sa SG.

yun nga lang SG Sale i think starts July.

grabe naman, di naman ganoon ka mura dito - unless you chance upon their warehouse sale. i was told namakyaw ng lacoste si tito sotto when he came here for the asian television awards. the normal price here in singapore is about 1K cheaper than in manila. so around 3000 yung shirt, SGD85.

i missed their semi-warehouse sale a couple of months ago, where they were selling womens bags. these were going for SGD20-35, and the original price was 150++. yung problema sa mga ito, eh exclusive, they only invite special clients, nung nalaman ko na friday 7pm na, alas 9 sila magsasara, at cgurado akong tira-tira na lang yun.

bawal nga ang fake sa singapore, but it does not mean na walang fake. ingat sa mga "sale" in the hotel conference rooms, some of them are questionable.

  4. do you know which banks sells philippine index fund, at kung magkano ang minimum? is it Php denominated ba?is there a maximum?

Sorry sa dami ng tanong ha, bago lang ako sa pag-invest sa pinas.

its Philippine Index Fund.. not BPI Index Fund, though it is owned by www.bpitrade.com

.. it is based on an index.. index funds are select stocks but are not actively managed by a fund manager.. thus you pay lower fees..

  5. before.. i always go for lacoste shirts but one thing that i have noticed.. madali sya malaspag.. you can notice the deterioration in quality after a couple of uses.. dapat ba steam washed siya and not hand/machine washed?

not sure what you mean by steam washed. hand washing is the gentlest washing method i can think of aside from dry cleaning. for me ala akong labandera kaya machine washed lahat ng mga damit ko. i find the trick is to iron it inside out. do not iron directly yung labas nya, dahil honeycomb nga ito, mas delicate sya kumpara sa insides, kaya you shld iron that side instead. of course do not use any bleach para di malaspag yung fabric.
